Centre excercising powers under Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas Ordinance, 2020, has constituted a body to be known as the Commission for Air Quality Management in National
Capital Region and Adjoining Areas.

SG: We have made appointments to the commission under the ordinance

SC: we will hear this after vacations. But ensure that there is no #smog in the city

Senior Adv Vikas Singh: please state that any person suffering from health issues then SG Mehta will be responsible

Singh: I have already started coughing

SG Mehta: I can advise you to leave a couple of things (all laugh)

Singh: Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is not a member of the commission. The offences have no classification too

SC: Offences are all non-cognizable..

Singh: no, all offences are cognizable, My Lord

CJI: there is no grading of offence. How can that be SG Mehta?

SG: I will respond.

CJI: There are NGO members in the committee too

SG reads out the commission member composition

Singh: The situation now is of public health emergency. Something drastic needs to be done.

CJI: Whatever anyone says we are court of law. This problem will be dealt by executive as they have money and resources

SG: we have will also

CJI: We have certain limitations and we are not abdicating our responsibility. Let SG take steps

Sc: we will keep the matter on reopening of courts.
