As a Rifleman, Lance Havildar Dil Bahadur Chhetri, #MahaVirChakra led a daring khukri charge eliminating 8 Pakistani soldiers at Atgram, during the Battle of Sylhet, December 1971.
4/5 #GorkhaRifles (FF) was given the specific task of clearing a well-fortified Medium Machine Gun (MMG) enemy post at Atgram. Then Rifleman Chhetri, with complete disregard to his personal safety, fought fearlessly, charged the bunker, killed eight enemy troops with his khukri
He had thereafter requested for premature retirement proceeded on pension in 1976 without completing minimum service and returned to Nepal and thus was not getting pension, except monetary grant for his #MVC award
Living in a remote village of Banke distt in Nepal, with no major source of income, he was surviving on a modest gallantry award allowance.
His condition was highlighted to the Defence Wing of the #IndianEmbassy in Nepal by a fellow officer of his old unit, 4/5 #GorkhaRifles (FF)
A grant of Rs 5 lakhs (8 Lakhs Nepal Currency) was sanctioned by him in December 2019 and cheque was presented to L/Hav Dil Bahadur Chettri #MVC on 17 January 2020, at Kathmandu Indian Embassy by General Puran Chand Thapa, the Nepal Army Chief.
On 06 November 2020, #COAS Gen Naravane, during his visit to Nepal, handed over the balance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the #IndianBrave via video conference.

In October 1947, soon after the partition, thousands of raiders assisted by Pakistani regulars invaded J & K all along its border. Brigadier Rajendra Singh, Chief of Military Staff, J & K State Forces took over the command of a relief column and proceeded to check the raiders.
Another column with all available troops (nearly 100) was dispatched on 23 Oct 1947 to join Brig Singh with orders from Maharaja Hari Singh “Brigadier Rajendra Singh is commanded to hold the enemy at Uri at all costs and to the last man...“ #LestWeForgetIndia🇮🇳

On 11 September 1965, the Poona Horse Regiment under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Ardeshir Burzarji Tarapore was assigned the task of delivering the main armored thrust for capturing Phillora in the Sialkot Sector in Pakistan.
The regiment was thrusting between Phillora & Chawinda when it was suddenly counter-attacked by the enemy’s heavy Armour from Wazirali.
Lt Col Tarapore defied the enemy’s charge, held his ground and attacked Phillora with one of his squadrons supported by an infantry battalion.

On 07 July 1999, Capt Vikram Batra's company was tasked to clear a narrow feature with sharp cuttings on either side and heavily fortified enemy defences that covered the only approach to it.

In 1947 Pakistan sent tribal irregulars into the princely state of Jammu & Kashmir in an attempt to capture it and accede it to Pakistan. Brig Usman, then commanding the 77th Parachute Brigade, was sent to command the 50th Parachute Brigade, deployed at Jhangar in December 1947.
On 25 December 1947, with the odds stacked heavily against the brigade, Pakistani forces captured Jhangar. . On that day Brig Usman took a vow to recapture Jhangar a feat he accomplished three months later, but at the cost of his own life.
In 1999, when the #Kargil conflict started, Capt Kenguruse was a junior commander in the #RajputanaRifles battalion. For his determination and prowess, he was made the lead commander of the #GhatakPlatoon of his battalion.
On 28 June night, Capt. Kenguruse’s platoon was given the responsibility of taking out a strategic machine gun post held by the enemy on a cliff face, the Black Rock. Heavy gun fire from this position had been hindering the battalion’s progress in the sector for days.
On 28 June 1999, Major Padmapani Acharya as a Company Commander, was assigned the formidable task of capturing an enemy position which was heavily fortified, strongly held and covered with mines and sweeping machine gun and artillery fire.
Success of the battalion and brigade operation hinged on the early capture of this position. However the company attack almost faltered at the very beginning when the enemy's artillery fire came down squarely on the leading platoon, inflicting large numbers of casualties.
