At the Salem rally today, press is not super popular.
I am sensing some anger from right wing protesters today.
Chants of "USA" from the crowd.
It is a very heavily armed crowd today. One guy just has a revolver handle peaking out of the top of his cargo pants.
I've been recognized.
Oh fun, a threat. "Your days are numbered." Also threats to the NLG.
A speaker asks how many people are exercising their Second Amendment rights. Cheers follow.
There is discussion of raising money for a recount. The speaker notes that Donald Trump cannot be racist because he made Ben Carson the HUD secretary.
Dead people are apparently voting. There was talk of Sharpiegate earlier so we are really hitting them all. A speaker comes up to inform everyone of how they can demand a hand recount.
There are somewhere around 200 people today. Not a tiny gathering, but much smaller than the anti lockdown protest at the same location earlier this year.
Anyhow, the democrats are fascists because they "do business" with George Sonos, who sold his fellow Jewish people out to the Nazis. Also, China does organ harvesting and Kate Brown loves that.
"We know we are free and we won the election and Donald Trump IS going to be the President in 2021." The speaker is from the Oregon Patriot Coalition, who I wrote about in this Bellingcat article: bellingcat.com/news/2020/09/2…
A speaker urges parents to stand up and fight for their children.
A man is giving a speech about corruption in the Oregon Health Department, when a truck full of Trump supporters with airhorns drives by.
I have to say this is much less loud than the anti lockdown rally. My ears still have not recovered from that day.
Michael Cross, who is currently running for Attorney General of Oregon, gives a speech and at the end asks for $5000 in donations, so he can hire a company from outside of Oregon to count votes.
Michael continues to complain that his opponent, Ellen Rosenbaum, tried to stop the police in Portland from wearing protective gear during riots. This is untrue.
"99% survival rate, open up the state."
The Turning Point USA booth. Don't tread, bruh.
I think the last speech has been given. The event seems to be slowly dispersing.
'A country boy can survive' plays as folks leave. Behind me, the sky begins to clear.
"Reject the conformity of the mask", as another Covid outbreak hits the White House.
Actually, Michael Cross is back briefly, telling people that Biden's victory is a victory for China.
Bear mace and a Blue Lives Matter flag.
A man with a tiny bullhorn tries to give a speech but a truck with what sounds like a train horn drives by and drowns everyone out.
Qanon is here.
The Proud Boys and their attendants leave.
Aaaaand now it looks like the Proud Boys are headed back towards the Capital.

At the end of the day the Democratic Party- the system and nation it stands for- must all be burnt to ashes. The horror of the last four years will return upon us a thousand fold if we do not break the chains of this system.
Anyway, unbiased journalist here. I never advocate shit.
A very Trump-y 4runner drove past the pro Biden celebration at Pioneer Courthouse Square, dragging an American flag in the muck and slime while a Blue Lives Matter flag flaps in the breeze.
Here we see video of the Trump mobile getting run off.
They came back, presumably trying to provoke something. Protesters armed with AR15s and handguns march around the edge of the event, keeping eyes on them.
A rifle was confiscated today at a Portland protest. Based on the sticker that adorned it, I suspect the guy carrying it was more on the Boogaloo end of things than anywhere else.
Dead Tyrants Society is a veteran owned lifestyle brand for gun lovers.
They sell stickers and tactical patches and the like. Their store is closed right now so I can't tell you their precise inventory.
But their Instagram gives you an idea of their politics.
I find this post particularly interesting. This is very much a fashwave looking aesthetic. Which does not mean these folks are fascists, as variations on the style became increasingly common this year.
But check out the comments. Interesting use of "deplorable".
I'm seeing a lot of Chris Dorner references online lately, and I do understand why. But I wish people would think more about Monica Quan, the 28-year-old assistant coach at Cal-State Fullerton he murdered.
Quan was shot alongside her fiance. These are their pictures.
Dorner's rage was understandable, his fury at a bigoted system was righteous. But his actions were not.
Quan's fiance, Keith Lawrence, was a campus cop at USC. Does this make him a participant in a broken and vile system? Yes. Does it justify he and his fiance's death?
I struggle every day with a deep well of rage over the horrific things I have watched police do to other people. I can only imagine how much stronger Dorner's rage must have been. On a moral level, I can justify many different actions to fight such a system. But not this.
