The Cabinet will be briefed on how the coronavirus pandemic is being dealt with. We are opening commerce in street stores. To prevent a resurgence in morbidity, we are allowing opening for up to 4 customers at any one time, while strictly adhering to distancing and hygiene.
We are still in an early stage of returning to routine. We are constantly evaluating the effects of the measures to ease restrictions and the gradual opening in the preliminary stages, in order to prevent an outbreak of the pandemic.
We are seeing a slight increase in morbidity; we will carefully consider whether to continue opening up or to stop.

I ask everyone to strictly adhere to the rules and the directives so we will be able to make progress in returning to routine until we bring the vaccines to Israel
Today, I am submitting for Cabinet approval a decision to establish a new community in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip. This is major news for Israel; this is major news for the communities in the area adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
We are continuing to develop the communities of the south including the moshavim and kibbutzim. We are developing new neighborhoods on Sderot and Netivot. I must say that there is a waiting list for every home. This is the best proof of our national resilience.
Lastly, I would like to note the passing of two men of letters who passed away over the weekend. The late Natan Zach was among our most prominent poets. His poems, including 'Because Man is the Tree of the Field' have left their imprint on the new Hebrew poetry.
The late Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, the former Chief Rabbi of Great Britain, was a spiritual leader and thinker who had many students. His insights about the heritage of the Jewish people and antisemitism will stand in our generation and for generations to come.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, at the Cabinet meeting:
"I would like to start with congratulations for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris. I have a long and warm personal connection with Joe Biden for nearly 40 years, and I know him as a great friend of the State of Israel.
I am certain that we will continue to work with both of them in order to further strengthen the special alliance between Israel and the US.
For myself and for all citizens of the State of Israel, I again thank President @realDonaldTrump for the great friendship he showed the State of Israel and me personally.

Yesterday we took a step toward a historic peace between Israel and Sudan. I thank Chairman of the Sovereignty Council al-Burhan and Sudanese PM Hamdok for their historic decisions. Above all, I thank President @realDonaldTrump and his team with whom we are changing history.
I remind you that Sudan was an enemy country. It participated in war against Israel. In the Sudanese capital of Khartoum, the Arab League declared the three no's with Israel: No peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with Israel. We changed all of that.
Some of you may not remember that Iran also used Sudan for smuggling. Iran was a country from which very dangerous weapons would be smuggled to Hamas via Sudan, the Nile valley and Sinai and this compelled me to order steps to prevent this and indeed this has changed.

Prime Minister Netanyahu, on the declaration of normalization between Israel and Sudan:
“Today we announce another dramatic breakthrough for peace, another Arab state joining the circle of peace. This time, it is normalization between Israel and Sudan. What a great turnaround!
In Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, in 1967 the Arab League adopted its three ‘No’s’: ‘No to peace with Israel, no to recognition of Israel and no to negotiations with Israel.'
However, today Khartoum has said, ‘Yes to peace with Israel, yes to recognition of Israel and yes to normalization with Israel.’ This is a new era, an era of true peace, a peace that is expanding with other Arab countries, with three of them joining in recent weeks.

Over the weekend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke on the phone with His Highness Crown Prince @MohamedBinZayed of the United Arab Emirates in their first conversation since the signing of the historic peace treaty at the White House.
The Prime Minister informed the Crown Prince that the Israeli government will formally adopt the peace treaty and expressed full confidence that due to the wall-to-wall support the treaty enjoys in Israel that it will be ratified expeditiously by the Knesset.
The Prime Minister and the Crown Prince agreed to meet soon.
