As Nigerians eagerly await the Gazette of the CAMA, 2020, the Corporate Affairs Commission says it has completed work on a new technology that will change the face of Company registration in Nigeria in accordance with global best practice. ImageImageImageImage
The Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Alhaji Garba Abubakar stated this in Abuja at a Dinner held in his honour by the Ahmadu Bello University Alumni, Law Class of 1988.
the RG revealed that the new technology will be deployed as soon as the gazetting is achieved to enable interested Nigerians register the much awaited One-man company, Limited liability partnerships, Limited partnership
and many other initiatives captured in the law. He further revealed that when the end-to end-technology gets fully deployed, the Commission will dispense with the mandatory requirement of two Directors must sign every document and be substituted
with the opportunity for Companies to appoint a single Authentication officer mandated to sign transactions on behalf of the company.
A. G. Abubakar stated that upon the migration from what he called the semi-automated system to a fully automated one, some form of validation of records for companies will be introduced free of charge in a bid to fill some gaps in the existing data base.
He added that Customers can print their certificates with verifiable QR Code from anywhere in the world amongst others.
While thanking the organizers for honoring him, the Registrar General restated his resolve to ensure selfless
service to the nation in order to justify the confidence reposed in him by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, A.K. Ajibade, SAN extolled the good virtues of the RG and thanked the Almighty
God for reuniting them 32 years after to celebrate one of their own irrespective of tribe or religious affiliation.
In their separate remarks, the BOT Chairman, A.U Mustapha, SAN and President of the Class, Dr. Ibrahim Abdul both noted with delight that President Muhammadu Buhari selected the right man to be the CAC Scribe and prayed God Almighty to make him succeed.

Based on the provisions of Section 579 (2) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, (CAMA), the Corporate Affairs Commission has cancelled the registration of the Business name “Enough is Enough BN 2210728” with immediate effect.
The above section provides amongst others that the Commission has the power to cancel the registration of a Business Name where the name is deceptive or objectionable.
The Business Name “Enough is Enough” which was registered in 2012 to engage in General Contracts, Sales of Sport Equipment/Promotion deviated from its main objectives over the cause of time.

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has pledged to reinvigorate its collaboration with the Nigerians
in Diaspora Commission to check amongst others, the abuse of the word “Diaspora” in company
registration.
The Registrar General/CEO
of the CAC Alhaji Garba Abubakar gave this assurance today while receiving the Chairman/CEO of (NiDCOM), Honorable Abike Dabiri-Erewa on a courtesy visit to the Commission.
Alhaji Garba Abubakar said moving forward the Commission will re-evaluate
its existing relationship
with NiDCOM to ensure greater synergy and therefore enjoined it to modify its guidelines to guard
against abuse by prospective Diaspora Associations.

At about 10.20 hours today, one of the outer units of the split Air Conditioners on the 6th floor in the Main Building exploded due to power surge.
The sound attracted the attention of the few personnel within the premises and they immediately mobilized to quench the fire using
fire extinguishers and fire hose reels within the building. The fire had descended through the outer AC ducts to the 5th and 4th floors which necessitated a call to FCT Fire Service and they promptly responded.
