TN government takes a firm stand against BJP’s Vel Yatra. Today the petition of BJP’s Karu Nagarajan came up for hearing before Madras HC. Advocate General told the court that the BJP being a national party and a party governing the country is taking law into its own hand. 1/n
The AG submitted a status report before the Court. In the status report, he detailed how the BJP violated all orders, circulars, rule of law and conducted the Vel Yatra, which created huge traffic jams, On 6th, 8th and 9th BJP President Murugan went on a Vel Yatra, 2/n
he was followed by a convoy of vehicles, with more than 200 cars, vans. On Sunday, he conducted a meeting at Thiruvotriyur.
AG categoricaly said, that the Vel Yatra of BJP is not a temple visit but a political activity. All those who accompanied Murugan were wielding 3/n
BJP party flags. Murugan himself did not wear a mask.
The AG said, he has submitted all the videos and photographs of the 3 day Vel Yatra and said, the behaviour of the BJP party people is very shocking. 4/n
If permission for Vel Yatra is rejected, they should have approached the court. But instead they take law into their own hands.
