@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Here is how people like Lilley assess the media:

Lilley doesn’t believe in facts and truth. He believes in post truth. Might makes right and those with the $ determine what’s true.

Current laws and ethics force media to rely on facts & actual true information.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey That’s the bias Lilley is referring to.

Law and order, broadcasting laws, the inability to outright lie in media like Fox News does. Think Hannity and you’ll know what I mean. Hannity “reports” completely bogus disinformation. Fake news that doesn’t have an ounce of truth.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Canadian legislation limits how media portrays the far right. Because of laws put in place to keep information truthful and based on facts. But mainstream media has found a way around those laws and regulations. They need to be tightened up.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Watch Vassy interview a conservative. It’s painful. She asks softball questions, she only occasionally fact checks, she allows run on screeds full of lies and smears, she refuses to stop interruptions from cons and NDP. She lights up and smiles talking to cons, scowls with LPC.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey That’s how Vassy gets around broadcasting regulations. She isn’t lying. The station isn’t broadcasting disinformation, they are just providing the platform for those that do.

Vassy brings up LPC scandals as often as possible to remind viewers of ethics rulings.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Not a word about con follies and foibles, or crimes.

It technically meets the guidelines and regulations standards of offering both sides, but an astute viewer knows much is missing from Vassy’s performance and the bias to con platform and policy is abundantly clear.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Print media is a bit different. By reporting on what politicians say and removing the political analysis or fact checking, cons are able to say the garbage disinformation they want and media is “just” reporting it. Not endorsing it either way.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey Again, the absence of fact checking makes disinformation campaigns easy through MSM.

Another trick is the sudden plethora of opinion pieces being offered. Truth is relative when it comes to opinion. Many don’t see the difference between a journalist’s report and opinion piece.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey To fight fascism, we need to be aware of the tactics being used to manipulate the public narrative.

Mainstream Media leaves it to network conservative news outlets to publish total BS. They have no regulations. Then they report that con insiders are talking about the BS.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey They keep their reputations and broadcasting licenses and the nation is gaslit no less than if they watched Fox News.

Americans are brash and boorish. Canadians are subtle and passive aggressive.
@MgS_2011 @brianlilley @anthonyfurey That’s why legislation like this is essential to fight fascism.

Read this letter. Alberta is on a trajectory of catastrophic proportions if we do not alter the COVid strategy.

Tomorrow, Kenney will strongly encourage the far right to behave. There is no reason to believe the far right will comply.
Kenney is incapable of altering his ideology. He so fervently believes his own rhetoric about liberty and freedom and god’s will is to let the chosen people decide for themselves as their divinely bestowed rights permit, that he will not intervene to halt COVid.
We can wait. We have example after example of American states collapsing healthcare systems to know what to expect.

This is arrogance, hubris & blind faith in divinely bestowed rights that’s preventing Kenney from acting in the interests of public health vs individual liberty.

That’s because Kenney and UCP are adhering to the liberty and freedom demanded by ALEC (American Legislative Exchange Counsil).

Kenney is performing like a US state governor, not a Canadian provincial premier.

This is where UCP gets all their policy information.
Here is ALEC instructing far right politicians how to eliminate power to protect public health.

Since Alberta is governed by the far right, it’s just the rationale we hear from Kenney. He won’t enact public health protections again.

That’s why he removed the power of the Chief Medical Officer of Health in April 2020. She unilaterally closed schools and ordered a lockdown in keeping with the rest of the nation. He stripped her of that power very shortly after.

@Paulbyjove1 @Dave_Khan @jkenney @shandro That is very true Paul.

Personal data is the new oil for capitalism. The control of the distribution of resources through personal data aggregation and analysis is the new reality.

Harvesting personal health data is part of that objective. Change laws to make it easier.
@Paulbyjove1 @Dave_Khan @jkenney @shandro It is being overlooked. Most focus on individual threat, but this legislation permits the government to harvest data and use it for any purpose they consider “in the best interests” of the public. Consider who UCP sees as the “public.”

Corporations & Dominionist Christians.
@Paulbyjove1 @Dave_Khan @jkenney @shandro This legislation permits AB government to transfer individual and aggregated data to Corporate and Faith based entities for analysis, manipulation and influence.

The documentary “People You May Know” revealed that health data (more specifically mental health data) is sought.

Trump is a barricaded subject.

Who else is a barricaded subject? Kenney for sure. He refuses to address COVid or spend federal funds on COVid.

Trump is holding the US hostage. Kenney is holding Albertans and Alberta hostage.
Eventually, Biden will call in the marshals to remove Trump.

The process to remove Kenney is similar in nature. We could wait until an election 2.5 years from now. Or we could protest en masse to remove the stubborn turnip now.
My preference is now. Why allow Kenney & UCP any more opportunity to inflict policy that will kill people & exacerbate the spread of COVid? Why allow UCP the ability to claim a Public Health emergency and gain another power grab?

We can act now or live with a fascist govt.

Emmanuel Macron will be passing legislation very soon requiring incendiary terrorist narratives to be removed from Social Media within 1 hour in France.

Canada and every democracy needs to do the same.
Democracies across the globe need support from the public to achieve this initiative.

We must let Facebook, Twitter, Google and all social media know that indoctrination of vulnerable members of the public with toxic narratives is unacceptable and a crime. A hate crime.
Hate speech is not free. To maintain the freedom, we limit hate speech. When we don’t, our current circumstances are the end result. A surge in autocracy.

A coordinated effort from every Western Democracy will limit the ability for hate speech and recruitment to fascism.

As we wait for the transition of power from despot to democrat, Facebook (Zuckerberg) has taken it upon itself to aid in the obstruction of that power transfer, facilitation of an insurrection narrative and disregard for the will of the American electorate.
In other words, the Social Media monopoly Facebook commands globally has gone full fascist in an attempt to preserve the corrupt and criminal hold on power by Republicans and Trump Administration.

Aiding and abetting a coup d’état.
As if there weren’t enough other reasons to dismantle Facebook’s monopoly, Zuckerberg is playing his cards and revealing clearly that Cambridge Analytica election interference was not just a onetime anomaly, but is now a feature of Facebook’s business model.
