I genuinely thought this was a joke. But it isn't. The UKIP candidate for London Mayor really is called 'Peter Gammons' and his twitter account and campaign slogan genuinely is 'Gammons 4 London'.
I mean how on Earth are satirists meant to find work in this climate? Aren't things hard enough? It's like Richard Braine all over again.
According to Joe - Dr Gammons' qualifications are a BA, MA and DMin (Doctor of Ministry) degrees from Presbyterian Faith Theological Seminary. I've just watched his campaign video on Facebook - apparently he's given talks to millions of people and is an adviser to world leaders
2 minutes into his campaign video we learn that there are "two million miles of unused tunnels under London." I'm not sure Peter is the guy for me.

Boris Johnson knew Brexit was a great cart of mildewed dung from the start. He only hooked his ego to the wagon because he wanted to be Head Boy. The Tory true believers are a cult of fantasists, weirdos and oddballs who clung to this nonsense to satiate childhood fantasies.
Of course it was never going to work. Of course it was going to be a disaster. Just a cursory look at what Brexit meant showed that it would harm ordinary Britons, make life harder and send us into a downward spiral. You didn't have to be Paul Nuttall brilliant to work it out.
But I would say that.... because I'm a Remoaner or something... actually I'm not a *Remoaner* it's more simple than that. I'm just sane.

If you're some think tanker who backed Johnson and Brexit and trolled the life out of everyone, saying it would be fine, while branding facts "Project Fear" and experts and naysayers "Remoaners" - don't think you can just dust your hands and walk away. You created this nightmare.
Years ago there was a cartoon in (I think) Private Eye of a tortoise caught in a giant mousetrap in an entirely empty landscape and two other tortoises looking on. One of them says: "he never saw it coming."

That's Brexit summed up for me. All of this was so blindingly obvious
That Farage and co were listened to and taken seriously suggests that there was something else rotten at the core but it was all nonsense. Self-indulgent, self-destruction. Wrecking your country because you once had an Empire and liked 1970s passports. The philosophy of drivel.

Woke lefty Briton refusing to stand and sing along to Land of Hope and Glory. And on poppy day too!

Bloke by the name of um.. Edward Elgar. Who er .... wrote it.
The source is the Daily Mail - a piece by Harry Wallop from several years back. They clearly don't read their own copy.

So there you have it. The Conservatives deliberately did nothing to assess Kremlin's attempts to interfere in Brexit. They let it slide, even as it served their own agenda - that is a failure of leadership, a failure of security and a failure of the British people. #RussiaReport
Government exists first and foremost to protect the people in the nation. If they don't care about foreign meddling and foreign interference in our democratic processes they have failed in that duty. To then deliberately sit on that failure and obfuscate it for months is another.
But Boris Johnson doesn't care. He's PM now, sitting on a massive majority. So sod the lot of you. Move on. Get over it. La la la....

"I don't believe in gestures, I believe in substance" says Boris Johnson. A man who has spent his entire life engaging in gestures, while never once demonstrating an iota of substance.

Dominic Cummings' father in law's opinions will leave your jaw on the floor. The sort of chap who looks down his nose at everyone.
I've met people like this in my life. Born into wealth and privilege and entitlement and utterly convinced of their own superiority because nobody ever told them they were talking utter bollocks. But this is one of the worst cases I've ever seen.
