To be specific—The carelessness of white people is killing Black and brown people. Straight up.
Say you’re a white person and you have a party with other white people. Maybe one person has COVID but is asymptomatic, and gives it to 3 other people at the party. And those people pass it on, and so on.
Black and brown people are more likely to be in high risk jobs, meaning they are more likely to be in the crosshairs of the transmission precipitating from that party. Native Americans are also very vulnerable due to close quarters on reservations and lack of resources.
So no, you didn’t “dodge a bullet” when everyone from your party turns out okay. You fired one.
