*Thread* - Transform Weakness into Strength

Just answer these 2 questions πŸ‘‡πŸΌ Image
To be honest

There's a low probability of overcoming certain lifelong weaknesses

Weaknesses are often strengths playing the wrong position

Ask: "What is this behavior doing for me?"
All things have trade off's

Mind/body is incredibly intelligent

Adaptations & tendencies serve you in some way

Example: Lack of Commitment

"What is this behavior doing for me?"
- Gives you control

Not putting trust into a person or cause means you stay in full control

- More freedom

No obligations

- Less worry

No expectation to meet, no risk of losing something when you care about nothing
Next we identify the trade-off

"What is this costing me?"

- Lack of certainty

Never building in a direction, with people, with anything. Everything feels temporary & uncertain

- Lack of deep connections

Always keeping distance to maintain control & not risk being hurt
- Lack of results

Never allowing time for what you sow to grow & be reaped

^ there's a general few points for our example

Leaning too far in the other direction would be over commitment (neediness)

Which we also don't want, it has it's own problems

To restore balance.....
1) Keep the current behaviors

2) While consciously incorporating some out of character ones

Revealed in the "what is this costing me question"

3) Put self in a aligned position
We grow our character by doing things out of character

Darkness is just the absence of light

You don't need to 'fix' the darkness

Create/Add in the new light behaviors

To bring back the balance

Too much in either direction is either blinding light or pitch black darkness
Playing in Position

Lacking commitment is actually a stronger ability to handle uncertainty

They do well in roles that:

- Schedule 90% in their control

- Project to project type work, no long term commitments
- No customers, product delivery, operations to run

- Partial flexible commitment
For them it's a perfect balance of it's not entirely on them because then they won't commit

But the client is also not 100% in control of their schedule either
In Short:

Playing a position aligned to default tendencies

While working to incorporate new habits to restore balance

Is much more effective than wrestling with your default tendencies

Trying to solve them and do things that are just not for you
Place a monkey in the ocean & a fish in a tree
Both will behave neurotically

"Know thyself"

Discipline, Willpower, Work Ethic

It's great. Everyone talks about it

but you free up bandwidth to take on discomfort
When your default is low in discomfort

aka playing your position
So try this for yourself

Ask those two questions when looking at your tendencies

"What is this doing for me?"

"What is this costing me?"

Thank you for reading,

Cheers πŸ₯‚

- Lust starts as a intense craving

Getting weaker as the craving gets filled

- Love starts as a slight curiosity

Getting stronger over time

Opposites attract, it seeks to fill a lack

INTENSE desire before getting to know someone

Is trying to fill a lack
The lack gets filled as you spend time together

Then all attraction disappears

The purpose of that relationship is done

Zero desire for each other

Love does not originate from lack
Same is true for money

Which is why we always see guys make a ton of money

Then once the lack is filled

Hop online & talk about how β€œmoney is not everything” & wont make you happy

1) You desire a change from the familiar

2) You venture into the unfamiliar

3) You adapt to the unfamiliar

4) It becomes familiar & you return to where you started with new adaptations

Results are reflections of who you had to become

The novelty wears off over time

Which then makes you desire the next change

From either inspiration or desperation
Curiosity or discontent

Experimentation - Winter
Integration - Spring
Transcendence - Summer Image

The mind will not release the resources you need until it sees the immediate demand

It won't adapt until you lift the weight

*Thread* - Bliss Point Formula πŸ§ͺ

Why they put sugar in everything

Reveals the ONE extremely attractive thing

That makes people irresistibly magnetic
Bliss point - perfect balance of sweet & salty

The craving never gets satisfied
but dopamine still releases

Making these foods extremely desired

Bliss point also applies to personality

Two contradicting qualities in perfect balance = extremely attractive
The craving never gets satisfied because it’s not dominant enough in one

Eat something very sweet you’ll crave salty to balance it

With this perfect balance neither gets satisfied

just dopamine triggers

It’s why they put sugar in everything like tomato sauce & bread

The best book is the one you write for yourself

- Reverse engineering your good & bad outcomes
- Asking yourself questions

Establishing a line of communication with your intuition & intelligence

Relying on the external never activates intuition

You don't get surplus oxygen & bloodflow until you start running

You won't know what to say to your friends until you're in the conversation

People would rather be impressive than be impressed

- Why over-giving is disrespectful
- Formula for strong connections

People would rather be impressive than be impressed

You feel better when someone asks you for dating advice
vs receiving their dating advice

When they ask you it subcommunicates:

- You give good advice
- They trust you
- You have value
- You are good at dating
Research shows when people do us a favor
They feel better than if we did them a favor

Reality has a harmony to it

Day & Night
Inhale & Exhale
Awake & Asleep

Over-giving distorts the balance

To be a good giver one must also be a good receiver
