Okay. Three matters have come to my attention over this weekend:
1) The 'friends' from my Army days who I have reported on before now asking me to go easy on the #RIGGERS and the #DISAPPEARERS have today charged me with opposing #SelectedNikka @ImranKhanPTI because he 'kicked 2/

3/ the next government. In the first week of August as it began to become clear that he was the #Selected one, a person known to #Nikka and myself called out of the blue to ask (we hadn't spoken in years!) what my plans were? I said I would resign the moment it became clear 4/

4/ that the political leadership that had appointed me was not going to form the next government. He said 'Are you sure'? I thanked him for asking but said it would be unconscionable of me to stay on when my friends had been forced out of office. I duly resigned on the 14th 5/

5/ August 2018, 4 days before #Nikka's 'swearing in', after doing my duty of unfurling our National Standard in the Embassy. The Foreign Secretary, Tahmina Janjua, flying high the tradition of the F.O. of treating 'Bloody Civilian' politically-appointed Ambassadors like dirt 6/

7/ long whine (written by an 'American'!) contained in the latest Press Statement from @OfficialDGISPR regarding India's nefarious plans for Pakistan with all the gory details. The questions are: a) What has our ISI done to thwart these designs which are not new, India being 8/

8/an enemy country of long standing? And, b) Why this long statement at this time? As for the first, there is no reason Asad Durrani cannot be pressed into action to meet his buddy Amarjit Singh Dulat in a 2-track effort to reduce tensions. After all they have both been DGs of 9/

9/ their respective Mothers of All Agencies, him of RAW and Durrani of the ISI. For the second, is the reason for releasing the litany of accusations at this time the mounting pressure on the #DeepState for going on propping up #Nikka while his mis governance sees the country 10/
