Charles Okpaleke @charlesofplay dazzles again with his second foray into Nollywood with the remake of the 1995 classic RATTLESNAKE - THE AHANNA STORY. The movie follows the story of Ahanna Okolo who narrates his life of crime and its consequences on those he loves.

The movie opens in a street in a slum where a mob chase, lynch and burn a suspected thief alive in typical jungle justice as is peculiar with our country. Young Ahanna watches as this becomes an unforgettable experience. #Rattlesnake

The remake has an Ocean Eleven-esque like screenplay with spectacular heists executed by the Armadas, a band of young intelligent crooks headed by the movie’s protagonist. #Rattlesnake

Ahanna, Nze, Amarachi, Bala, Egbe and Sango make up this unique sextet who don’t promote violence and redistribute wealth in Robin Hood style, targeting the rich and powerful which catches the attention of the authorities. #Rattlesnake

Nollywood Greats such as Chiwetalu Agu (who appears as Ahanna’s Uncle portrayed by Nkem Owoh in the original), Gloria Young Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Fred Amata, Ejike Asiegbu & Norbert Young star in this epic remake of this Nollywood Classic released by the late Amaka Igwe in 1995

@OfficialOsas Osas Ighodaro great looks and callipygous derrière 🍑 had me spellbound during the movie. She stars as Amarachi, Ahanna’s first love interest and sister to Nze, Ahanna’s childhood friend and lieutenant who has a serious drug addiction #Rattlesnake

As the popular saying goes - Hell hath no fury than a woman scorned. Amarachi’s quest for vengeance ends the movie in an anti-climax as Ahanna’s son has his own unforgettable memory with the killing of his mother, Ada portrayed by Elma Madikwe. #Rattlesnake

#Rattlesnake is an enthralling action packed movie that depicts the harsh realities in Nigeria - poverty, inequality & corruption as one man takes the reins in changing his life. It is a story of betrayal,compassion,heists & brotherhood with chilling plot twists & cliff hangers.

@RamseyNouah Ramsey Nouah’s second time in the director’s chair 🪑 didn’t disappoint. The veteran actor and now director makes a cameo appearance reprising his role of Richard Williams from 2019’s Living in Bondage- Breaking Free. #RattleSnakeTheAhannaStory

@RamseyNouah appears at an Art Gallery Exhibition where the Armadas attempt to pull off a heist of the famous Benin Bronze Mask worth $6 Million. He entices Ahanna to join the Six, the secret cult which enslaves the souls of its members with promises of wealth and power.

The make-up effects in the movie was commendable especially for Nze (Bucchi Franklin)@buccifranklin and Smoke (Brutus Richard) @brutusrichard_ who was in the constant habit of kissing his teeth.

@BBNaija former housemates Nengi @nengiofficial & buff 💪 Tobi Bakare @tobibakre also feature in the movie. Tobi is Ike, a thug working as an undercover policeman plotting to bring down Drug Kingpin, Ali Mahmod played by legendary actor Nobert Young. #RattleSnakeTheAhannaStory

Initially, I was disappointed that @AYCOMEDIAN made the cut for the ensemble cast. However, his acting in #Rattlesnake is a far departure from his performances in his Akpos and Merry Men movies.

@AYCOMEDIAN plays the role of Timi Phillips, an aspiring gubernatorial candidate who is a victim of the Armadas, falling captive of the delectable @OfficialOsas while also being robbed of $1 Million being laundered drug money to finance his campaign #RattleSnakeTheAhannaStory

The remake is 130 minutes long and modernizes the 3-part original from 25 years ago. It brings a modern vibe to the classic infusing heists, trips around the world amongst other vices. Kudos to the cast and crew #RattleSnakeTheAhannaStory

@buccifranklin undoubtedly has earned his acting chops. I project he wins the AMVCA for best supporting actor. His portrayal of a whimsical drug addict was awesome. His demise in the movie was in Scarface fashion - in a blaze of bullets. #RattleSnakeTheAhannaStory
