"Conservative & Unionist Party"

Leader - Devolution is a disaster

Scottish Leader - Devolution has not been a disaster

I am going to write a thread where I agree with Douglas Ross

On an obsession
SNP Accused Of 'Misleading' Public Over School Cuts
In an extraordinary move, the statistics watchdog says "exaggerated" claims "do not give the full picture".
Special needs pupils being failed by system 'on verge of crisis'

Rising demand puts councils in Scotland at risk of bankruptcy
SNP are cutting school funding in real terms
Children are so hungry at schools teachers are taking extra food for them
SNP school cuts are depriving kids of sport as figures show alarming drop in school PE hours
The amount of per pupil spending in Scotland's schools has fallen by 8% since 2010
Schools are being forced to "beg for donations" and are slashing subjects in a bid to save cash
Catholic School sends parents 'begging' letter
A top secondary has been forced to hand out the begging bowl to parents, after blowing its entire £800,000 reserve fund in four years.
Schools in Nicola Sturgeon's constituency 'send out letters begging parents for cash'
Charities have said schools are in dire need of funding, warning that one-off handouts won’t solve the crisis.
One of Scotland's oldest schools writes begging letter asking parents to pay up to £75 a month towards its running costs
8 reasons schools have had to send parents begging letters because of SNP policies
Now obviously it's because the SNP cannot cope with the flood, the swarm of immigrants and the pressures they place on the system

See below: a 0.4% difference on immigration scenarios
So all the example headlines above are from 2010-2020

And are from English schools

On Douglas' "everything else"

See food banks

A young Margaret Roberts once talked of the bliss a Conservative government would bring for young people

Boris Johnson talks of "intensity and clarity" to school children

Liz Truss

Well she explains it beautifully

Just like others in the period of 2010-2020

Who knew exactly what the consequences were

Not to worry though Nicky Morgan was able to stomach her conscience enough to accept her reward from Boris Johnson

Yay for "one nation Conservatism"
So on jobs

A reminder

>£4.4bn brexit prep cost
£170bn BOE stimulus cost
>£130bn lost growth (so far)
£39bn liabilities

Cost of brexit *so far*

£343 billion

And brexit so bad that the Tories seek to exploit a pandemic in which to mask its effect
It's great to see Douglas talk about "obsession"

bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-sco…
And as to the clips of poor Robert Jenrick this morning been sent out to defend Boris Johnson

Robert Jenrick

A man whose dinner dates with Richard Desmond are very profitable (well to Richard at leaset)

Let alone constituency bungs

Now Robert says that Boris Johnson "is at heart a unionist"

Here's a reminder of what BORIS JOHNSON agreed to in the withdrawal agreement

AND HIS OWN FUCKING WORDS

And here's a reminder of those who said they had "many solutions" to the NI border

I do wish I was a journalist

I suppose I will have to settle for being a citizen

As Abraham Lincoln put it

“I should regret to see the day in which the people should cease to express intelligent, honest generous criticism upon the policy of their rulers.”
There is a simple question to Boris

If devolution has been a disaster

Then accepting that premise as true

What do you propose to do to fix it?

And a reminder of Dominic Raab pre 23/6/16

Tory MPs may push for second referendum after 2020 if Remain win, says Vote Leave minister. Conservative MPs may push for a second referendum on EU membership with a few years if Remain win, Dominic Raab, the justice minister, has said.
Boris Johnson's reset is hollow

It is bullshit

He & his cult needs an eternal division

To distract from their record, their legacy

e.g. on Black Lives Matter and "defund the police"

But hey "the people's priorities"

So amidst

Austerity and its knowable consequences

Brexit and its eternal shitshow

Covid and its "massive success" as Boris claimed it

If you sell the reset - shame on you

If you buy it - wake the fuck up

/end

[thread]

I did some threads recently in praise of Liz Truss and Douglas Ross

Today I am going to do something new

I am going to do a thread in praise of Boris Johnson

First of all

I wish to congratulate Boris Johnson

The take up and promotion of the messaging around the "green industrial revolution" has been more successful than "boutique PR" or the craven cult cowering before Cummings

Today

To distract from

His comments on devolution

Coronvairus

Brexit

And nepotism

And Priti Patel bullying

And so many others

[thread] on a plan

A reminder of Dominic Cummings
A reminder of Boris Johnson and Michael Gove who said they had a plan
A reminder of Michael Gove

10/6/19

‘One of my concerns when I was out of HMG & on backbenches is we triggered A50 w/o a proper plan. I have a proper plan to deliver Brexit.’

[thread]

I would like to say.

I am so so sorry for Kate Bingham.

Michael Gove cannot play the ball.

So instead plays utter hollow bullshit instead.

Since Michael doesn't know where to start.

I will.

Now first of all.

There is the fact that other than Boris.

The heaviest hitter in the cabinet is sent out to bat for Kate.

That should be reassuring to Kate.

I would say the opposite.

It is a sign of the desperation.
Now I could go into a bit on Michael

But I honestly can't be bothered

I have covered him in depth previously

This is a man who cannot recall his role in the Vote Leave campaign

Weird that

I should warn you - this is a long thread on Michael

[thread] on the "great news"

and "listening to the people's priorities"
Now first on the great news

Oh dear

My apologies

Looks like I read the wrong story on the northern echo

thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/national/…
Oh yes and also

great news for road traffic accidents in wintery weather

" a 40 per cent cut in its spending power due to government austerity cuts has made it “impossible to provide some of the programmes that we previously did”.

[thread] I am going to do a thread

Where I praise Liz Truss

She is truly a courageous individual

She has changed her mind

politicshome.com/news/article/l…
So first of all

Let's go back in time

To Spring 2016

pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/business/fa…
"The minister warned that leaving the EU would be a leap in the dark for British agriculture, and could put the country’s European food and farming export market – worth £11billion each year – at risk."

The damage to food prices *ALREADY*
