1. The #Bears now rank 31st in the NFL in points scored and total yards.

Only one offense in team history ranked worse. That was in 2004. The Craig Krenzel/Jonathan Quinn/Chad Hutchinson era.

The fact Matt Nagy has managed this with Mitch Trubisky and Nick Foles says it all.
2. In six drafts to this point, Ryan Pace has selected three offensive linemen before the 5th round.

One was off the team after two seasons.

For a guy who talked so much about QBs being vital to success, he's shown incredible negligence in protecting his.

#Bears
3. In their 10 games this season, the #Bears offense has scored a total of 18 touchdowns.

Ready for this? Ten of those touchdowns came in the 4th quarter. The remaining 8 came in the other three quarters combined.

Translation? When defenses don't play soft, they have no shot.
4. Early reports are Nick Foles didn't suffer a serious injury.

Great news for him.

That shouldn't stop the #Bears from benching him. He just isn't equipped to handle how bad this O-line is.

Mitch Trubisky, for better or worse, is their only option.
5. The Allen Robinson saga was summed up in two moments last night.

His agent ranting on Twitter that the #Bears have no concept of how to use him in the red zone and the man himself whipping his helmet into the bench.

At this point no amount of money will keep him here.
6. Minnesota had a plan on how to expose the #Bears protection issues. Lots of blitzes

While the coaches deserve blame for having zero counters, Cody Whitehair also failed to identify them all night.

Now we know why they tried to get him out of there last year.
7. Bill Lazor was Matt Nagy's final Hail Mary to give the offense some kind of spark.

It didn't work.

Six points and less than 150 total yards against one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

Can somebody explain what the point of Lazor even is on this team?

#Bears
8. The #Bears defense held Dalvin Cook, the hottest player in the NFL, to 96 yards on 30 carries.

They held an offense that has averaged 28 points over the previous six games to 19.

Anybody who blames them for this fiasco needs to have their head examined.
9. Roquan Smith has 96 tackles in 10 games. That goes along with two sacks.

Jaylon Johnson has 13 passes defended and allowed just 48.1% of passes thrown his way to be completed.

Smith is 23. Johnson is 21.

The future of the #Bears defense isn't nearly as bleak as many think.
10. One has to start wondering if Chuck Pagano is the source of the issue with the pass rush.

Leonard Floyd had 3 sacks last year. He already has 7 this year.

Robert Quinn had 11.5 sacks last year. He only has 1 this year.

There's only one common denominator here. #Bears
11. George McCaskey has never fired a head coach or GM midseason.

Don't expect that to change.

However, there is no denying this. His anger is boiling. Nagy and Pace made promises and failed to deliver.

Their seats are white hot.

#Bears
12. The #Bears currently still hold the 16th pick in the 2021 draft.

Detroit, Minnesota, and New England all sit ahead of them with 4-5 records.

The Lions play Carolina, Vikings play Dallas, and Patriots play Houston next week.

Chicago could reach the top 13 without playing.

1. The #Bears offense is bad. We know this. Still, so is the Vikings defense.

Their secondary is gutted at corner and they have no pass rush.

If the O-line, who is getting some help back tonight, can protect Nick Foles he'll be hitting open guys.
2. Beating the Vikings this year has resulted when opponents force them into turnovers.

They have 12 turnovers in their five losses.

No turnovers in their three wins.

The #Bears defense has been painfully close to several takeaways the past few weeks. They're due.
3. Part of why Minnesota has avoided turnovers lately is Dalvin Cook. His ability to dominate on the ground has allowed Kirk Cousins to take fewer chances in the passing game.

The Vikings are winless when he's held under 100 yards on the ground.

The #Bears D needs a big night.

1. The sign of a good head coach is seen in trends. From year to year, is the team improving?

Matt Nagy has gone from 12-4 to 8-8 and now 5-4 with his team losing 3-straight and clearly spiraling.

His offense has also gone from 21st to 29th, to 29th.

No improvement. #Bears
2. Want to know the story of Ryan Pace as #Bears GM?

Spent $45 million on Mike Glennon
Spent 4 draft picks including #2 overall on Mitch Trubisky
Spent a 4th round pick and $21 million on Nick Foles

Nothing more needs to be said. He took three swings at QB and struck out.
3. People keep using the O-line as an excuse for Matt Nagy.

Last week the Bengals were missing 4 starters up front and hung 31 points on the Titans.

This week Dallas put 19 points on the 6th ranked Steelers D without both OTs and fielding a 4th-string QB.

1. Mitch Trubisky was all over the place in Green Bay.

Made some outstanding plays and never quit.

Also made a few costly mistakes.

It was a microcosm of his year.

While he deserves blame, the loss is not entirely on him. He was one of the best players on offense. #Bears
2. David Montgomery concludes his seventh game of 2019 rushing for less than 50 yards.

It's probably not a coincidence the #Bears are 1-6 in those games.
3. Five #Bears tight ends have combined for 283 yards this season.

Nick Boyle, the Baltimore Ravens' third-string tight end, has 291 yards.

I wanted to wait a bit for things to settle down before assessing what the #Bears accomplished over the past three days from the draft to undrafted free agency.

Here we go.
1. I love how Ryan Pace altered his approach to the early rounds. He shifted to targeting more proven players who were highly productive and experienced in college. #Bears.
2. Roquan Smith is a stud. He was my favorite defensive prospect and I knew he'd make such a good fit for the #Bears. Vic Fangio is a former linebackers coach who's overseen Ray Lewis and Patrick Willis. His push for Smith should be considered gospel. #Bears
