Being numbers of infected so small and similar (42vs53) the confidence margin lead to a cloud of possibilities in which the most probable is NO DIFFERENCE at all.
Statistical extremes are masks being ~40% effective OR even ~20% perjuditial.

That's why modern science never used them in stopping epidemics: they don't work.
Not only they have problems like perverse infection increase for misuse, but they've true proved psychological damage.

Total Spain family expending in masks is ~600.000.000 €/month.
As reference, the rescue wage for 800K families costs 250M/month
