1/ If @LindseyGrahamSC committed a heinous abuse of power (and potentially a felony) why is this happening with literally no opposition, protests, filibusters, or disruptions right now? 🤔
2/ Why did @KamalaHarris go ahead and fist-bump @LindseyGrahamSC yesterday as if he didn’t just try to ratf*ck *her* GA election results if we the voters are supposed to be outraged?
3/ Some will say, “oh she’s so clever! They’re such great friends! It’s ‘complicated,’ it’s ‘all a game,’ etc etc.”
You know what? I’ll say it. Centrist Dems are cowards, and that’s why they lose elections.
4/ We can go back and forth between whether “Socialism” cost @HouseDemocrats seats this election, but if we’re being honest... like REALLY honest, it’s because Democrats *do nothing with the power they’re given.*
5/ I was personally pumped for @HouseDemocrats to retake control in 2018 because I wanted a real check on Trump’s power. I thought we were going to get his tax returns, and, if corruption was uncovered, maybe impeach him.
At the very least put up a fight.
6/ Instead, we got a half-hearted impeachment attempt that leadership rushed through to appease voters like me.
If anything, Trump got worse. Fired IG’s. Appointed “Acting” Secretaries (I know, Senate not House, but most voters don’t get the nuance. I didn’t 10 yrs ago).
7/ Remember when Speaker Pelosi said she would use “every arrow in our quiver - up to impeachment” - to block Amy Coney Barrett?
Did it happen? Of course not.
8/ How about the Authorized Use of Military Force/Defense Budget in 2019?
Womp womp. @HouseDemocrats caved to Republican demands (and even gave Trump a literal new branch of the military, the Space Force!)
9/ Republican policy goals are shameful, even as they are easy to conceptualize. They shut down the government in 2013 over the debt ceiling: “We’re spending too much!”
But, at least they fight for what their billionaires want (even if they pay for it during elections).
10/ When Democrats go to shut down the government, it’s over weird stuff like:
*denying additional aid to farmers* in the run-up to 2020.
(Trump was using some $30b as a piggy bank to pay off swing states, but the above tag line sticks, right?)
