The New Ruling Coalition: Opposition to Afghanistan Withdrawal Shows Its Key Factions

greenwald.substack.com/p/the-new-ruli…
An unholy union of the National Security State and the neocon-backed and corporate-funded Democratic Party are about to assume power: with media-supported internet censorship a key weapon.
Here we see the new coalition of power that has formed during the Trump era: hawkish and corporatist Democrats, united when necessary with pro-war/neocon Republicans, Bush/Cheney operatives, the national security state and large corporate media outlets.

The “disinformation” which these NBC, CNN and NYT “gatekeepers” combat is not the truly propaganda that spews forth from the most powerful sectors. That is the disinformation they specialize in endorsing. These are not anti-disinformation warriors: they are disinformation agents.
This is the thing that confounds me the most about the last 4 years, and one of the key reasons, if not the key reason, I see things so differently from some former allies and supporters on the liberal-left:
"The jarring pre-election internet censorship on behalf of this Democratic-led coalition is the tip of the iceberg of what is to come. The key players in that internet censorship campaign are the corporate U.S. media outlets who are still are a key part of this ruling coalition."

Throughout the Trump era, mainstream liberal media outlets elevated the most deranged, neurotic and ridiculous people as “experts” to scare the shit out of everyone. Well beyond NYT putting *Louise Mensch* on its op-ed page about Russia, look at what this person is *still* doing: ImageImage
This @sarahkendzior person was so blatantly a completely unhinged maniac, scaring the crap out of followers, telling them Trump was definitely going to nuke people, maybe even them. MSNBC put her on constantly. Look at the fear & sickness she spread: ImageImageImageImage
And look at what media outlets even *now* are saying about her. Just look at these two tweets. Why the fuck would anyone in their right mind trust the media, saying stuff like this and elevating people like her? Trump permanently broke the brains of liberal America. ImageImage

This point from Jonah @peretti, now the owner of BuzzFeed & HuffPost — that the NYT can’t be the “Paper of Record” because its subscription model means it only speaks to one like-minded group — is 100% true. But.... Image
But it doesn’t have to be that way: millions & millions wants a media outlet they can trust: unconstrained by ideology. The mammoth success of Rogan, among others, proves that.

Huge opportunity to break free of the NBC/CNN/NYT/Fox prison & create that:

Relatedly: there’s suddenly a huge spate of articles about The Substack Craze in media outlets & I’m seeing an oft-repeated myth: that while a journalist can make more money there, your audience size shrinks. That assumption is false....

As @mattgaetz there was joined by @TulsiGabbard & @RoKhanna in a failed July effort to allow troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, you can see Liz Cheney in front of him. After accusing him of being pro-Terrorist, she joined with Dem Chair Adam Smith to smash them. Here's Smith: Image
If you're angry it was Matt Gaetz who made eloquent pleas with Ro & Tulsi to end the war in Afghanistan, while the Raytheon-funded House Armed Services Committee Dem Chair joined with Liz Cheney & other neocons to block withdrawal, blame them, not me:

The US has only been shooting Afghan farmers and bombing villages for a mere 19 years. Thank you, @SenDuckworth, for demanding there be no premature withdrawal. Afghanistan belongs to the US and 19 years of occupation and bombing is far too little for a colony to improve:
And here's @AmbassadorRice, @RepDanCrenshaw and some NBC News analyst all agreeing that it's way too early to leave Afghanistan, and that Trump's plan is precipitous -- in case anyone still believes the bullshit myth about how there's no more bipartisanship in DC.
And just so you know what the sides are, here's neocon warmonger & MSNBC favorite @BillKristol condemning the current effort to withdraw troops from around the world, including Afghanistan, as his liberal fans swoon and sprain their fingers re-tweeting:

This is amazing, but not really. There is no more authoritarian species in the wild than US liberals. In every controversy, they side with institutions of authority: they love the large corporate press, the FBI, CIA, workplace managers, editors - they worship & revere authority:
Nobody — absolutely nobody — has done more to spread disinformation and deceive the public than large corporate media outlets. That’s their function. This never used to be controversial on the left.

Now they have liberal convinced they’re the warriors against disinformation.
They beg Facebook and Google and other tech giants to regulate our discourse. They think NBC News & CNN are devoted to combatting disinformation and keeping us safe from propaganda. They beg for “gatekeepers” and discourse regulators. They are institutionalists & authoritarians.

Look at how much NYT reporters hate and resent Substack, because it provides the ability of writers and journalists to be heard and to reach an audience without having to submit to their monopolistic structures and discourse controls.

Corporate journalists despise independence:
This is the same reason they hate @JoeRogan. They think it's a grave injustice that millions want to listen to to him -- are willing to pay -- but not to them, and that he's free to say what he wants and they're not.

The more free discourse emerges, the more they'll malign it.
As for money: NYT makes enormous profit. They make it by keeping fear levels high and trying to deceive people into believing that only they speak Truth and provide reliable commentary (despite their, you know, history).

They hate anything that threatens that hegemonic control.
