You are the CEO and entrepreneurial founder of your life

Don't outsource the control of 'you' to other people or to chance

Install these 6 traits to take control of your life

///THREAD///
1) Strong work ethic

The fundamental baseline everyone needs, you start here

Without the ability to show up each day and take action

You will always let others dictate your days

And control your destiny.
2) Grit

Be almost irrational with your grit to get things done

Only YOU can solve the unsolvable riddle of your life

And that comes with time, effort, determination, and attempting new ideas others have not considered.
3) Self Belief

YOU can do this and you will SUCCEED

Be so convinced your ideas for your life will work

Make sure that you never lose momentum towards your goals

And don't quit, pivot if you have to but just keep going!
4) Be Coachable

A CEO still needs a coach

To be successful in life, you need a thirst for knowledge

Never stop learning and approach your chosen field of excellence with the apprentice mindset

Be humble and work on the ability to see your blind spots

Ask for help when needed
5) Find a Circle of Excellence

Befriend those who are built different

Those that have high expectations for themselves will help you build high expectations for yourself

To win in life you need achievers around you

For great ideas and friendly competition to keep improving.
6) Be a Leader

Develop the ability to lead in a way that gets the best out of everyone

The best leaders know how to inspire and rally themselves and others and to get over setbacks quickly while learning lessons

Being a good leader gives you a better chance to win in life.
Don't leave your fate up to others

Take control of your life today

Become that the successful CEO you know you can be!

Don't change who you are

Why this is advice is a mistake

///Thread/// Image
There is almost a noble idea that you should talk and act the same way with everyone in life

No matter where they are from or what level they are in the organizations you do business

Years of people management and high-end sales have taught me this is wrong.
If you were to act the same way with everyone, you may find

1)Those below you might find you condescending
2)Those above you might be offended by you

If you choose to be super friendly all the time it will not fit all situations

The same for if you decide to be super official

Let's talk about making better decisions using stoicism

What does the even mean?

///THREAD///
In many people's day-to-day lives during turbulent times

They go looking for answers to their questions and for some comfort

Many people will use religion or other spiritual books

I use philosophy and in particular, Stoicism, to help me make better decisions in life
Stoicism is an emotion-processing tool and way of thinking

It can help you make better decisions

Regulate your emotions, plan for the future

And deal with the ups and downs of life

Here are three quotes that support my points...

The 4 Mindsets of competition in life

From Paranoid and Defensive

To Abundant Winner

Competition is good for you

But do you see it like that?

///THREAD/// ImageImage
A successful journey can be challenging, and there are many twists and turns, and you will face competition, but that is good

You may even fall into more than one of these following categories from time to time.

Getting your mindset right is the 1st step to a successful life!
1) Paranoid and Defensive

Not a great place to be and a mindset you should move out of quickly

You feel increasingly threatened and intimidated by your competition

You get angry and bitter that your growth is slow, and you find life frustrating and unrewarding

What if too much empathy leads to bad decisions?

Is being too empathic holding you back as a leader?

///THREAD///
Empathy is the ability to feel what other people are feeling, and it is seen as one of the most essential leadership skills

Empathy indeed helps you see from the perspective of others and helps build stronger relationships

And all leaders need an element of this...
However,

Some psychologists estimate that one in five business leaders have such low empathy they can be considered psychopaths

We have all worked for one or at least worked in an organization that sees you as employee #2658, not an individual

All numbers

No heart...

Your EGO is not the enemy

It is an unwieldy warrior that needs discipline from its commander

7 tips on how to control your Ego

///THREAD///
1. Stop getting offended

The behavior of others isn't a reason to get upset

If you let things offend you it only weakens your energy

As Christopher Hitchens says, "Those who are determined to be 'offended' will discover a provocation somewhere."
Your ego is working to convince you that the world should be how you want it to be; this is stupid

Please stop it

We need to talk about how the Long Game

Is the only game you should play

Most of us seek the "easiest way out" and "quick wins."

But, when we pursue quick money, attention, or status

We end up playing the short game

///THREAD///
We all seek the same thing:

Freedom

Or our version of it

We are predictable

Chasing the same thing and wanting to get there as quickly as we can
This makes the long game the path least traveled

The one that plays this game is not interested in quick wins or easy solutions

They end up doing things most people are unwilling to do
