(1,7) This week will begin the Thanksgiving week that was the last one my family had with Jaime. While I know that this Thanksgiving will be tough for American families, my hope is that you all continue to stay safe and distanced so you can spend next year together. 
(2,7) I wrote find the helpers because of what happened to my family. While I write about the losses my family has suffered, my story and this book is one of hope. I have hopes for you. One is that we will all be together again and in person soon.
(3,7) My hope is based upon my faith in people. I am constantly amazed by how amazing Americans are and we are showing it again. Together, my dream of a safer and more just America is going to happen.
(4,7) I am often asked about my optimism following the murder of my daughter. My optimism is firmly grounded in the love, support, and help I receive from others. This is my moment to say THANK YOU to all of the people in my life who have been helpers to my family and me.
(5,7) On a very public level, with the election now over, the people who I met and who supported me in my mission for a safer and more civil society have only reinforced my optimism and my belief in helpers.
(6,7) I have written about many amazing helpers in my book, however, I continue to meet new ones every day. For those who have not yet read Find The Helpers, I hope you will. We all need hope and optimism.
(7,7) My story of finding it through helpful others is something that I hope you will find helpful for you.
