Coup attempt by Trump to get GOP legislatures to overturn will of voters very disturbing but won't work:

-they don't certify results

-electors based on state popular vote

-Dem govs can block

-courts keep ruling against Trump

Canvassing board certifies based on county results. If GOP canvassers refuse court will order it
MI GOP leaders seem to be recognizing reality that electors must follow popular vote winner & legislature has no power to subvert will of voters

There was no fraud & Biden won by 154,000 votes

Trump isn't just trying to throw out votes in MI, WI, PA. He's trying to throw out Black votes in cites like Detroit, Milwaukee & Philly. Media coverage needs to be very clear about GOP voter disenfranchisement strategy happening here motherjones.com/politics/2020/…
Cities where Trump campaign trying to throw votes out:

Detroit - 78% Black & voted 94% for Biden

Milwaukee - home to 70% of Black voters in WI, voted 79% for Biden

Philly - 44% Black, voted 81% for Biden

They gutted the Voting Rights Act

They sabotaged the Postal Service

They closed polling places, purged voter rolls, attacked mail voting, tried to throw out ballots

And yet voters turned out in record numbers to overcome these barriers & make their voices heard
Massive turnout can defeat massive suppression

Now we need to keep increasing the turnout and get rid of the suppression
Thank you to all the activists, organizers, lawyers, poll workers, election officials, postal workers & everyone else who worked so hard under very difficult conditions so people would be able to vote

And all the journalists who reported the truth to counteract the darkness

It was Black voters in Philly, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Flint, Milwaukee, Racine, Kenosha, Atlanta, Savannah & Latino voters in Las Vegas, Reno, Phoenix, Tucson that saved Joe Biden & the country

Important point by Biden lawyer Bob Bauer: Trump's lawsuits challenging vote counting not designed to win in court, but spread misinformation & encourage thuggish behavior by his supporters to undermine legitimacy of election
Trump's desperate lawsuits won't stop votes from being counted or change results. They're already being struck down

Hearing now with Judge Emmet Sullivan on USPS refusing to comply with court order to allow last-minute sweeps for mail ballots yesterday

"I’m not pleased about this 11th hour development last night and someone may have a price to pay" he says
Judge Sullivan tells DOJ lawyers the failure to do court ordered sweep for mail ballots yesterday starts "at the top of the food chain" presumably implicating Louis DeJoy
Judge Sullivan says Louis DeJoy will have to testify under oath in his courtroom

Lawyer for @NAACP_LDF says they may seek contempt of court motion against DeJoy next week if USPS continues to not follow court orders

Biggest issue I've heard about so far is voting machines down in Spalding County GA, south of Atlanta. Election officials sending 2,000 provisional ballots to each precinct so everyone can vote on paper ballot. Everyone in line by 7 will be able to vote wsbtv.com/news/politics/…
.@KristenClarkeJD says Spalding County, Morgan County & Gwinnett County Georgia have voting machines malfunctioning. Voters using paper ballots but there is concern they could run out of ballots. Working with election officials to resolve
