🕉 2. Lord Indra because of his ego to show his strength to Vrindavan people flooded entire region Brij & so resulted in 7 days of very heavy rains.

🕉 3. On the 8th day, Lord Indra realized his mistake & stopped the rains. He sought forgiveness from Lord Krishna. Divine Cow Surbhi showered milk on Lord Indra & Lord Krishna & named Him as Govinda as God of Cows. It is this 8th day,Ashtami which is celebrated as #Gopashtami 🚩
🕉 4. #GauPuja is done on this day. Devotees bathe & clean the cows & gosala. Cows are decorated with cloth & jewellery & worshipped. Special Prasad is also fed f& prayers are made for good health & prosperity. Sri Krishna puja is also performed along with pradakshina🚩
