CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s address to the state today;

I would like to thank you all for your cooperation in not bursting crackers during Diwali and celebrating it in a disciplined manner like all other festivals.

Places of worship have reopened but let’s ensure we carry out festivities and celebrations without forming crowds.

With your cooperation, the My Family My Responsibility campaign has been successful and vital in curbing COVID-19 cases. I would like to thank all the doctors, medical staff, officers and all essential staff for their efforts and bravery in making it successful.

Today, we have a health map of Maharashtra with which we are now aware of comorbid patients and those suffering from other illnesses. This will facilitate addressing their future medical concerns.

Do not think that the coronavirus threat is over. Not just in Europe but even Delhi and Ahmedabad are facing the second wave which is stronger than before.

The new wave is also affecting the youth who can eventually infect the elders too.

We have also noticed that despite people recovering from the infection, there are cases of post-COVID side effects which requires us to take necessary precautions.

I appreciate the ones following the norms of wearing masks. However, it is disheartening to see that there are many who aren’t following the directives even today despite knowing the implications of the viral infection.

We have taken a decision, to reopen schools but it is still questionable looking at the current scenario. Many have suggested and asked us to allow all activities, but I, as the Chief Minister, have to take complete responsibility for the health and safety of my people.

I would like to reiterate and request everyone to not step out of homes unless necessary. However, if you leave your homes, please make sure you are washing hands, wearing a mask and maintaining distance at all times.

I assure you that the MVA government, at all times, will do the best for the betterment of the people and the state. Together, let’s fight the virus with strength and power.
