This week I called for the prosecution of donald trump and his government enablers.

Some have asked me to name his specific crimes and bad acts. So I wanted to do a thread highlighting a few of them to show the scope of his disgraces.

What follows is the tip of the iceberg.
Exhibit A: Tax evasion. There is clear evidence of tax evasion by trump, his siblings, and his children, courtesy of exhaustive investigative reporting.
nytimes.com/2020/11/19/nyr…
Exhibit B: Obstruction of justice. Trump openly confessed firing the head of the FBI to stop a criminal probe of his aide Mike Flynn who sold out America.
vanityfair.com/news/2017/05/j…
Exhibit C: Foreign extortion. Trump tried to extort a foreign leader to attack our elections to smear his political rival. Trump was rightly impeached for this high crime.
nymag.com/intelligencer/…
Exhibit D: Lucrative bribery. Trump has pocketed enormous payments no better than bribes through his hotels.
independent.co.uk/news/world/ame…
Exhibit E: Spending taxpayer money to break the law. For now 599 days, trump has used the government to illegally keep his tax returns hidden from Congress’s legally-binding request.
cnbc.com/2019/07/23/tru…
Exhibit F: Sabotaging the Post Office. Trump and his Postmaster General have attacked USPS to deliberately delay Americans’ mail and subvert the election.
news.yahoo.com/rep-pascrell-m…
Exhibit G: Warped DOJ into his law firm. Trump has let bill barr turn DOJ into trump’s personal law firm to defend his sex assault suits, shield allies, attack his enemies, fire independent prosecutors, and torch the rule of law.
theintercept.com/2020/06/22/wil…
Exhibit H: Kept medical supplies from states. There is evidence the White House withheld medical supplies from certain states. Trump’s son-in-law purportedly sneered that New York would be vindictively denied pandemic help, resulting in untold deaths.
nymag.com/intelligencer/…
Exhibit I: Blocking criminal probes into corrupt allies. Trump’s Justice Department has looked the other way to malfeasance in his government or killed criminal probes outright.
washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
Exhibit J: Egregious pardon abuse. Trump has used his pardon power to protect unrepentant racists, sleazy scoundrels, and war criminals. He gave clemency to his felon friend who facilitated Russian dirt in the 2016 campaign.
usatoday.com/story/news/pol…
Exhibit K: Emoluments atrocities. By refusing to divest from his businesses, trump has repeatedly used his office to stuff cash into his pockets.
businessinsider.com/trump-suggeste…
Exhibit L: Stiffing police. Trump’s deadbeat campaign has refused to repay local police departments that patrol his violence-prone hate rallies.
publicintegrity.org/politics/trump…
Exhibit M: Sexual assaults. Trump has been accused of sexual assault by over two dozen different women.
businessinsider.com/women-accused-…
I’ll stop there. Trump has committed innumerable crimes and corrupt acts. He must face justice.

Failure to hold trump accountable will only push our nation further down the path of lawlessness and authoritarianism.

My @USPS explainer thread:

No surprise then that Americans rank the post office maybe the most popular arm of government. A 2018 Pew poll found 88% of Americans have a positive view of @USPS.

Try to find something else in our government 88% of Americans support.
The post office birthed a 2nd American revolution. USPS precipitated road building & allowed people to fan out across the land. Postal contracts sustained transcontinental 🚂. It was the post that got the govt to invest in aviation & birth commercial ✈️ .

After today’s outrageous hearing in the Judiciary Committee, I just arrived on the House floor to set the record straight on Russia and the Steele dossier. I’m going to read the dossier into the Congressional Record.
As we saw in today’s hearing, @HouseGOP continues to heap falsehood after falsehood to cloud reality. Trump & those closest to him have repeatedly lied about their multiple contacts w/Russian officials & Putin associates. Even now they have yet to offer a consistent explanation.
And as we’re seeing this week at NATO, Trump continues to snub our allies & parrot Putin’s version of world events. He disregards the input of our civil servants, intelligence operatives, & military officials. This betrayal has become an inexplicable routine we cannot shrug off.

On #WorldRefugeeDay, I am reminded of the refugees I have met after being resettled in New Jersey. They all sought a better, safer life for their families.
While their stories are uplifting, nearly 70m people are displaced from their homes because of war, violence, & persecution. The global response has been mixed, but some nations and NGOs, like @theIRC, have stepped up to support the neediest among us #WorldRefugeeDay
But thanks to Trump, the US has slashed our refugee acceptance rate in half to only 45,000. Credible estimates suggest we will not even meet that goal. That is why I led 126 of my colleagues to demand answers on refugee resettlement. pascrell.house.gov/sites/pascrell…
