NOW: The Michigan State Board of Canvassers is considering whether to certify the results of the November 3rd general election.
Michigan Elections Director @JonathanBrater: Results represent "a labor of love, on behalf of our state, performed by Michigan 1600 election clerks and our staff" in "an effort that is unprecedented both in scope and in difficulties."
.@JonathanBrater: "The Bureau has not identified any irregularities this year, other than the typical occasional human error is always part of the process. Overall we had an extremely well run and secure election."
One board member, Vice Chair Aaron Van Langevelde (R) is asking for public comments before considering the motion to certify. The motion has been seconded.
Public comments are now being heard as part of the discussion on the motion before voting.
The meeting is now in a recess.
Aaaaaand, we're back. @MIGOP Chair Laura Cox is now asking the board to delay certification, citing various conspiracy theories.
Shorter Laura Cox: People in Detroit were mean so you can't certify the results.
Charles Spies, attorney for @JohnJamesMI is now speaking. He says his position is not that the election shouldn't be certified. I think he's suggesting a delay for some unspecified investigation.
NOW: The results have been certified.

NEW: A kraken has been released, but not Sidney Powell's.
Veterans of conservative politics & media say Republican reluctance to admit @JoeBiden won & the new anti-@FoxNews backlash show how rabid, uncontrollable, & dangerous the @GOP base has become. independent.co.uk/voices/trump-f…
Ex-Rep/radio host @WalshFreedom says @GOP pols have long feared their own base more than @realDonaldTrump's wrath: "I had Republican House members tell me three years ago: ‘I don't give a flying f**k about Trump, I just don't want to cross his voters." independent.co.uk/voices/trump-f…
But Newsbusters founder @mattsheffield says Trump boosted fringe players that radicalized Republican officeholders' constituents: “People like Alex Jones had always had millions of listeners and followers, but Trump brought them into the big tent." independent.co.uk/voices/trump-f…
“Sidney Powell is practicing law on her own. She is not a member of the Trump Legal Team. She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity.”
CONTEXT: During an appearance on @newsmax last night, Powell accused Georgia Governor @BrianKempGA, @GaSecofState Brad Raffensperger, and their families of taking bribes from voting machine manufacturers.
And yet, Powell appeared with Ellis and Giuliani at a press conference last week, during which Giuliani introduced her as a member of the @TeamTrump legal team.
NOW: Sidney Powell on Judge Brann's ruling, speaking on @Newsmax: "This particular judge was appointed by President Obama, we really don't expect to win a lot of the district court cases but ultimately the Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court will have to get it right."
More Powell: "We haven't even begun to present the big fraud case yet that I'm still working on, and it's going to be a blockbuster."
Powell is now claiming that Democrats somehow added 35,000 votes to every Democratic candidate's vote total in every state.
NEW: The @TeamTrump lawsuit against the PA Sec’y of State — argued by Rudy Giuliani last week — has been DISMISSED WITH PREJUDICE, meaning the campaign can’t refile.
NOW: @realDonaldTrump is talking about executive actions which purport to lower prescription drug prices.
I think what he's trying to say is that the order will require discounts to go to consumers (he says people) as opposed to "middlemen" (who are also presumably people)
Trump now touting bizarre "most favored nation" rule that sets drug prices based on prices negotiated by other countries' single-payer systems. The US can't negotiate because the legislation creating Medicare Part D specifically banned it.
