Roger Froikin @rlefraim wrote, "THOUGH IT MAY BE PREMATURE, AND THOUGH SOMEHOW THE DEMOCRATS KEPT FOREIGN POLICY FROM BEING DISCUSSED THROUGHOUT THE CAMPAIGN, THE MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY OF A US PRESIDENT IS FOREIGN POLICY AND THE DEFENSE OF THE NATION."
1)
So, what could we expect in the way of Foreign Policy from the Biden/Harris Administration ?
2)
A. China. The Chinese Government has made it very clear that the election of Joe Biden is a priority for them, & as a way to stop Trump’s efforts to change the relationship between the two giant countries.
3)
The Chinese want an end of Trump’s demands for fair trade, for an end of the theft of intellectual property, & for an end of the policy of their “rob, replicate, replace”, a Chinese strategy that works like this:
4)
The intellectual property that is stolen is sold to Chinese enterprises. Those corporations replicate the technology and replace its Western counterpart first in the Chinese markets and eventually and ideally in the global markets.
5)
A Biden Administration will return to the status quo ante, at the expense of US Companies and workers and security. The appointments announced so far for Secretary of State and National Security, are individuals that previously promoted Chinese interests.
6)
But that does not end this story. Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, & the rest of the Pacific Rim Nations & Australia will understand that they cannot count on the USA to reign in Chinese economic and military aggression.
7)
Japanese Fishing Fleets are already being harassed by Chinese Naval ships, & Japanese air space is repeatedly tested & violated by Chinese pilots. The Chinese are even bolder in the rest of the Pacific Rim.
8)
Watch for Japan to choose to develop its military strength independently of the USA. Same with the rest of the Pacific Rim nations.
9)
B. The Middle East. Biden & Harris have already stated that they would rejoin the Iran Nuclear Deal (though other members are disappointed a Iran has violated ever provision of the deal), ...
10)
& they have promised to resume funding for the Palestinians which Trump stopped when the Palestinians refused to end their subsidy of terrorists. Biden & Terrorists have gone on the record also that they would go back to the Obama policy about Israel,...
11)
end any support for the Al-Sisi Government in Egypt that tossed out the Muslim Brotherhood, and essentially water down Trump’s efforts if not reverse them. Harris has proposed to punish Israel if Israel does not follow US policy.
12)
Expect the Israelis & Arabs in the region to feel abandoned by the US, & one result might bring them closer together & believing they can do better without the USA involved.
13)
This might open the door to South Asia, Africa, and Russia as both helper and market, leaving the USA with less influence.
14)
C. Europe. Biden announced appointments suggest that the Biden Administration will return to the Obama Foreign Policy toward Europe, one that Former Secretary Gates claimed was an abject failure.
15)
The US will rejoin the Paris Climate Accord, which amounts to the USA taxpayer transferring money to the elites of Europe to dole out as they please. Try reading it and see how it really works.
16)
And it means an end to demands that the Europeans pay for their treaty obligations toward NATO, leaving the burden on the USA, and that unfair lop-sided trade agreements will be left intact.
17)
In short, Biden foreign policy will be made in Beijing and Berlin, as it was before. China will avoid the consequences of its aggression in the Pacific, of its crack down on Hong Kong and of its pressure on Taiwan, and will avoid any responsibility for Covid.
18)
But, much of the world will see the US as an unreliable force for peace and progress."

When I was very young, maybe age 5 or 6, I tried to find an answer to a question that I noticed when going with my father to see one of his clients who owned a bar.
1)
The bar was filled with men who happened to be Black and the owner was Black as well. While I was waiting and drinking a coke, I heard one of the customers make a joke which I did not understand about the owner using a White accountant and some of the men laughed.
2)
Now, almost 68 years later, I still ask the same question. What does one gain by being concerned about the race of others? By judging people by color?

1)
I could take Governor Cuomo and Governer Newsom, and the rest of the politicians and political functionaries more seriously, if they led by example, and were not like the old Marie Antionette reference about the poor and angry. "let them eat cake".
2)
Let The Governors who want shutdowns, shut down themselves, forgo their salaries, and stay home.

Maybe then they would try to understand the science and act accordingly, instead of thinking they are big shots for whom the law and the rules do not apply."

This latest American Election Campaign has really redefined the two major parties more than any previous election campaign.
1)
The Democratic Party is now the party of the Billionaires and the Multinational Special Interests, though it tries to appear as the party of progressives, the "progressive" rhetoric is simple the tool of those who want centralized control and government from the top down.
2)
The Republican party has become the party of the workers, of the middle class, and the party that puts the interests of Americans first - which is something all countries do."

THE 4TH AMENDMENT TO THE US CONSTITUTION PROTECTS YOUR PRIVACY IN YOUR OWN HOME.
1)
That means unless a warrant is issued by a sitting Judge, the police cannot come into your home and give you a fine for what you do in your home (some very limited restrictions)
2)
So, the orders to wear a mask in your own home, or to refrain from having guests for Thanksgiving -- with the threat of fines and imprisonment, are unconstitutional.

1)
İt was basically a quite good article. I question one point made by Tobin, and another part of what he wrote needs a further look.
2)
A. Tobin assumes that Jews overwhelmingly voted for Biden, based on some informal surveys. The 60-77 % figure he used comes from surveys done based on membership lists, & membership list use heavily weighs results to over representation of Reform and liberal Jews.

Parsha Toldot
Genesis 25:19–28:9

Parsha Toldot is really a drama between two brothers and allegorically between two peoples and two approaches to defining civilization and it is a story that is repeated throughout history.
1) Image
There are lots of interpretations of the relationship between Jacob and Esau. One can look simply at the history as illuminated by the archeological evidence. One can interpret the story as Christians have since the writings of Paul.
2)
One can interpret it as the struggle between Jews and Rome as did our sages in the Jerusalem Talmud whose more recent history was filled with that ideological and physical conflict.
