Parents should know that due to Parler’s dangerous combination of an extremist user base and almost non-existent moderation of content, hate speech, incitements to violence and disinformation about the election results are pervasive on the platform.
ParentsTogether urges all parents of children under age 18 to immediately check their kids’ phones and tablets to ensure that their children have not installed Parler. If your child has installed Parler, we strongly recommend that you delete their account and the app.
The fact that Parler does not require users to share their age or birth date during the app sign-up process makes it even more important for parents to proactively check their children’s devices.
On Parler, there are frequent posts explicitly calling for targeted political violence and civil war in response to Donald Trump’s defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
As of November 18, hashtags like #civilwar, #civilwar2 and #civilwarifnecessary had been used more than 8,000 times on Parler, representing just a small fraction of the posts calling for political violence.
Parler’s prominent users include a who’s who of white supremacists, violent extremists and conspiracy theorists, many of whom have been banned from mainstream social media platforms for their bigotry, lies and incitements to violence.
From anti-Black racism and anti-Semitism to Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry, Parler is rife with hate speech. A post from user @MarijaMandic with the text, “let’s get that stupid n***** b*tch out of the VPs office.” parentstogetheraction.org/2020/11/19/war…

We all know that Trump has established a pattern where he repeats a big lie over and over, and his supporters believe it.

I believe that many of his supporters now think that this is the way government works. The man with the most power & the biggest media reach is SUPPOSED ... Image
... to do this, otherwise, he isn't fighting hard enough. Morality (truthfulness) doesn’t matter if it gets in way of one’s agenda. So what if we play dirty, as long as we get a W for our side. Now his supporters are following his lead and making up stuff up on their own. ...
... Parler is perfect for this. Why not make up some crazy shit and scream it over and over on Parler? If enough people echo it back and forth, "who knows, maybe enough people will believe it to make it true.”

Mega-MAGA-head Brendan Dilley said this.

To me, the Seventh Day Adventist Church is one of the strangest.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church arose from the Millerite movement of the 1840s in upstate New York, a phase of the Second Great Awakening.
William Miller predicted that Jesus Christ would return to Earth between the spring of 1843 and the spring of 1844. Two failed predictions. In the summer of 1844, Millerites believed that Jesus would return on October 22, 1844, understood to be the biblical Day of Atonement ...
... for that year. Miller's failed prediction became known as the "Great Disappointment".

Why anyone would follow a religion that started with 3 "Great Disappointments" over failed predictions is beyond me.

These days, evangelical Christians are making so many bold ...

@GaSecofState"People on both sides of the aisle generated controversies out of nowhere to stir up trouble."

We collectively call bullshit on that. None of the "controversies out of nowhere to stir up trouble" came from the Democrats.
If the Republicans cry "Fraud" and the Democrats respond "Bullshit," it's not the Democrats who are stirring up trouble and controversies.

You threw in with a vicious, mendacious autocrat, and when you didn't obey his orders to the letter, he lashed out.
If it had been within his power, Trump would have fired you, or worse.

Please note, Trump and his people have not said a word about the death threats that Republicans like you are getting for just doing your job (which he equates with crossing him).

I've been widowed once, married twice. Both of my wives told me their stories of harassment. My late wife had her boss repeatedly try to put his hands on her, and pushed her to have sex, despite her being married and her telling him to stop.
I wanted to intervene, but she refused to let me, telling me “that’s just how men act,” meaning that wasn’t the first time she’d had it happen to her. This was 30+ years ago. My second wife was fired from her job as a cook for refusing to have sex with the crew.
They cooked up a vendetta against her and got her fired. The supervisor that fired her told her he knew what was going on, but there was nothing that he could do about it, and he had to fire her. This was also long ago, when harassment suits weren’t common.

THE REBRANDING OF RACISM AND BIGOTRY.

This is an oversimplification, but it serves to frame the discussion.

First, there were the KKK, white supremacists and neo-Nazis. These were so extreme, and (appropriately) elicited such a backlash, that they couldn’t attract members.
So they tried toning it down. They said, now we are just white nationalists. We don’t hate black people, we just think that each race should be with their own. And since America is majority white, that means that should be white country.
A subset of this is neo-Confederates and secessionists, who think that the South should bring back the Confederacy or the red states should form their own white countries.

The public wasn’t buying what they were selling, so they toned it down some more.
