As a student of the Word and a teacher of teens, I've discovered that it's way easier to build strong children than to repair broken teenagers.
In my little experience, I've had tough times drilling wayward teenagers and I blame this on gruesome and careless upbringing.
If you aspire to be one in nearest future or you're a parent of young folks under 18, you may find this piece invaluable;
In a world where hustling is glorified and raising children is seen as mundane, remember that your children are your reward and not your worldly success (Ps. 127:3).
What does it profit you if you lose your children and gain the world?.
Parenting is a lifelong job but you cannot successfully curate learning experiences with children if they don't like, know or trust you.
If you don't fill your children's bucket of self esteem so high when they're little, the present day society will poke enough holes to drain it out.
Technological effects has caused more menace than blessing to the 21st century teen than any other age group.
Eight in ten who are privileged to own a smart device do not take advantage of its benefits.
Immorality has never been more prevalent like today among these present day folks. It's unfortunate!!
If parents will not learn to imbibe discipline in their children and set healthy boundaries for them while they're young, modest teachers will not be able to mend the bridge either.
It's in your place as parents to step out of the power struggle in time. You shouldn't expect them to be adults first.
If you don't teach them the principles of love, morality, prudence, sexual education and purity, the world would teach them but in a cruel way.
Today's standards are unlike those that existed in medieval times. Assumption is costly. Find out their love language and speak it. Tell them and show them your love often.
If you must have access to their hearts, then you must befriend them.
Children don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. (Theodore Roosevelt).
Children are not a distraction from more important work, they're the most important work.
(Remi Makanjuola)
Take time to mentor your children, they're the true test of your leadership.
(Nike Adeyemi)
If you have to sacrifice your work to give them proper upbringing, do it.
That being said, they will only follow your examples and not your advice. You will only succeed as a parent if you replicate divine standards and godly principles.
I end this note with Proverbs 22:6—Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Shame and temptation only grow in loneliness and silence.
Think about the anxiety that accompanies the burden of secrecy, the self-hatred after another failed attempt to say "No", the apologies that feel less and less genuine and the promises that hold less and less power.
Many jobs are on the verge of complete automation because of the growing effect of Artificial Intelligence on human labour.
The newspaper is almost dead. Traditional media is suffering as the internet is eating up everything. You no longer need to get your news from the papers, you can get them via twitter or life stream as they're happening in real time.
Traditional magazines are fighting for their lives not to survive competitively but to survive as a whole.
Information is free and there are few publishers where the trust in their brand is enough to keep them going.
Teachers help students to find important things they've lost everyday. Sometimes, it's a paper, backpack or jacket....other times, it's courage, confidence or a smile. #TeachersDay
I was privileged to sit under the umbrella of amazing teachers through the course of my life, so when teachers lament in this country, it pricks me... #TeachersDay2020
not just because I love to do same but because I hold those personalities in high esteem, especially those who show moral examples and do not abuse their students.
This is my Country!
A nation with abundant natural resources.
Her most diverse feature is her people, a nation with over 207M people and over 250 ethnic groups.
Her natural talents grit with passion but her people have lost their belief in her. Her cracks are widening and the anger of her people is rising by the day.
Her heritage is no longer cherished.
The age of her treasure, worth of her people and the glimpse of her colour are no longer sparkling to the admiration of the world.
The value of her currencies keep depreciating and the price of her commodities keep inflating.
Let me begin by clearly stating that the work of the Ministry is too sacred to entertain much uncertainty.
If you have many doubts about the call into the Ministry, you should get deep convictions and strong persuasions from God and other witnesses before you come on board.
There's no Point hazarding your life for a Cause you're not sure is worth it. Double mindedness and uncertainty is not a good foundation to begin the Ministry with.
