TOP 5 PLAYER TOPICS AHEAD OF GW10 (Thread)

Back again with this week's thread that will take a look at 5 players that are hot in the FPL community currently ahead of the upcoming gameweek that starts within a few hours! 🔥

Let's go...⤵️ #FPL #FPLCommunity Image
1. Kevin De Bruyne (11.6)

The highest point scorer in FPL last season has only scored 29 points so far this season. To put that in perspective, that’s lower than West Brom’s goalkeeper Johnstone. However it looks like this poor form is about to come to an end. Despite playing... Image
tough opponents in Liverpool and Spurs over the last 2 GWs, KDB is 2nd for xA (expected assists) and 1st when it comes to big chances created and shot attempts. With fixtures like BUR (H), FUL (H) and WBA (H) in their next 4 and with Aguero coming back, KDB feels like a great...
captain choice over this period despite his lack of returns so far. Even though Burnley have been decent defensively recently, Man City has won 10 out of the latest 11 games between the sides in all competitions.

The concern about KDB is the fact that despite him taking so...
many shots, 0 have been on target over the last 2 GWs. The fact that Man City also has a lower xG (expected goals) than Crystal Palace over the last 4 GWs is also worrying. They are getting a lot of shots off but not a lot of big chances.
2. Diogo Jota (6.7)

A Liverpool attacker for 6.7 in the form that Jota is in is something that we don’t see everyday. The comparisons between Foden and Jota are easy to make with both having similar roles on their team to start the season. Jota is however a very expensive... Image
signing, plays for a team which has an injury riddled midfield and plays for a manager that has shown that he trusts Jota a lot more than what Pep does to Foden. So far in his PL career, Jota has been incredibly inconsistent, usually going on a run of 3-7 games where he is...
brilliant but then decides to fade out a bit. It does therefore feel like it would be a good choice to try and take advantage of him when he is in the form that he is in because it doesn’t often last that very long.

Over the last 4 GWs, Jota has started 3 of them and among...
midfielders he has the most shots on target, goals and the 2nd highest xG. Combining that with 2 big chances created, the only midfielder in that price bracket that can compare with those is Trezeguet. If you are feeling extremely brave, he could potentially even be an outside...
captaincy option in GW10 vs Brighton which he scored a brace against last season for Wolves.
3. Patrick Bamford (6.1)

Despite 2 blanks in the last 3 games, Bamford keeps putting up incredible underlying stats with him having the highest NPxG (non-penalty xG) in the last 3 GWs. He just keeps on getting chances after chances just like he got in the Championship. Leeds... Image
are one of the absolute best attacking teams in the league with only Liverpool having more shots in the box and despite the signing of Rodrigo, Bamford still keeps his place, gets 90 minutes and gets his chances as you can see by these underlying stats provided by @Move78_FPL
I haven’t owned him at any time during the season but I can imagine his owners having to deal with a lot of frustration with how many chances he is getting and him not being the greatest finisher. However I think I would much rather prefer that than seeing my player not...
attempting any shots and it should be said that his finishing has improved a lot in the PL with him even overperforming his great xG and now he faces Everton. An Everton side that has been horrendous defensively since GW4 having conceded the most amount of goals in the league.
4. Mohamed Salah (12.2)

Salah is now back after missing GW9 and with only 27.6% ownership at the time of writing, he will still be a popular captaincy choice in GW10 especially since he scored a brace in this fixture last season. You can pick into some stats like Salah isn’t... Image
the same player away as he is at home or things like that but if we look at stats over this entire season, there isn’t another midfielder that really comes close. My advice would be to bring him back in as soon as you possibly can but probably make an exception if that has...
to do with bringing Bruno or KDB out. Going without Salah is always risky whenever you do it. Just look at these numbers among midfielders:

Shots: 34 (1st)
On target: 15 (1st)
Shots in the box: 26 (1st)
Big chances: 8 (3rd)
xG: 6.48 (1st)
Key passes: 21 (3rd)
xA: 3.42 (2nd)
5. Jamie Vardy (10.2)

Earlier in the season I thought Vardy owners were very lucky to get the points returns that they got since he was extremely uninvolved in those games but thanks to the fact that Leicester currently has received double the amount of penalties as... Image
any other team in the league, Vardy kept racking up the points. I remember going back to the start of last season where this was sort of the case as well. Vardy started off the season by being very uninvolved in the first few games before going on an incredible streak of form...
including that hat-trick vs SOU in GW10. I don’t think it’s impossible for Vardy to repeat this in GW10 vs FUL (H) since he has shown recently that he has been so much more involved from open play which is very important. We can’t keep depending on Leicester getting a penalty...
almost every game like they have been so far. These are some stats that back up that argument that he has been much more involved recently:
Kane ➡️ Vardy is the most popular forward transfer ahead of this gameweek by far and it’s not hard to see why. Since the West Ham game, Spurs have taken a very defensive approach in the games they have played in despite them having easy fixtures on paper. This has impacted...
Kane in a negative way which you can see in his point production. He has been consistent but not explosive like he was before the West Ham game. This means that his form and fixtures are on a bit of a downward trajectory while Vardy’s form and fixtures are sort of the opposite.
Hopefully you enjoyed this week's thread ahead of GW10 and have a great feeling about this gameweek. Thank you so much for your support as always!

Good luck this weekend everybody! 👏🍀

TOP 5 PLAYER TOPICS AHEAD OF GW9 (Thread)

Back again with the series that got so much appreciation and kind feedback last time around! 👏

This series will take a look at 5 players that are hot in the FPL community currently ahead of the upcoming gameweek. Let's go! ⤵️
1. Joao Cancelo (5.4)

4 straight 90 minutes appearances for the team that held the most clean sheets last season, 1.8% ownership, a bonus points magnet and an amazing fixture run coming up. For only 5.4, Joao Cancelo is a hot topic in the community. He managed to got a bonus... Image
point in GW8 despite blanking and Pep seems to have prioritized the defense heavily after they dropped points against both Leicester and Leeds in GW3-4. Since GW4, Cancelo has played every single minute and Man City have put up some impressive defensive numbers. 2nd in lowest...

Heung-Min Son replacements (Thread)

The highest scoring midfielder in FPL as of writing, Son picked up an injury in the first half against Newcastle and is now expected to already drop in price tonight

Who are the best replacements? What should you do with him? ⤵️ Image
These were Jose Mourinho’s words in the press conference after the game:

"It's an injury, we'll have him out for a while. It's his hamstring."

He also said that he expects Son to miss out for a long time. If it’s a partial or a complete muscle tear, we don’t know, but...
I probably won't expect Son to play in October at least. It should be mentioned that Son often recovers faster than usual.

For those that don’t care or think about the price drop it could be a wise decision to wait a few days until the injury has been assessed 🚑

My observations from the first 2 gameweeks 🔍 (Thread)

Looking forward towards gameweek 3, I wanted to share my thoughts and opinions on things that I have noticed during these first 2 GWs of the season

Despite the small sample size, there are already conclusion to be made ⤵️
1⃣ One of the teams that has impressed the most so far is Brighton. After a performance against Chelsea where they could be considered unlucky not to get more from that game, they beat Newcastle comfortably in GW2.

Brighton has always had one of the worst defences in the...
defences in the league in recent times but it seems like Potter has found the system that he wants to play and the inclusion of Ben White could also play a part in how only Liverpool and Everton are the only 2 teams (that have played 2 games) that has a lower xGA (expected...
