1.Hello and welcome! It’s episode 318 of #MrMrsBetterHalf. Mr & Mrs Better Half is designed to strengthen marriages & relationships that will lead to marriage, with wisdom from God's Word.
2. This week, we are discussing "HUSBAND MATERIAL." #MrMrsBetterHalf
3. You are probably very familiar with the expression - ‘Husband Material’ or ‘Wife Material’. #MrMrsBetterHalf
4. It’s self-explanatory. They refer to the qualities one believes make up a good husband or wife. In this episode, I would like to explore what qualities really make up a good husband. #MrMrsBetterHalf
5. Singles, this will help you evaluate yourself against good, realistic standards & also know what to look for in a mate. If you're married, it’s a good time to re-evaluate the role you're playing in your relationship & step things up a notch. #MrMrsBetterHalf
6. First, let me say what DOESN’T make a good husband. Swag doesn't make a good husband. There’s too much hype about how a person is edgy or cool & what not. Being a fashionista, wearing brand names, being popular or extra charismatic doesn't make a good spouse. #MrMrsBetterHalf
7. Having a sophisticated educational or family background does not make a good husband. Being good-looking, having a deep voice, being eloquent or having game does not make a good husband. #MrMrsBetterHalf
8. Notice these are some of the first things we notice about men. Their appearance, their resumes, and their net worth. #MrMrsBetterHalf
9. However it is not what surrounds the man that makes the man; it is what is in the man. The number one thing that makes a good husband is that he should be a good person. It starts from the inside. #MrMrsBetterHalf
10. You cannot give what you don’t have. A good man will produce what is in the treasure of his heart. If his heart contains good things, he will bring forth good things in marriage- even if he doesn’t have a 6-pack. #MrMrsBetterHalf
11. If his heart contains evil things, he will bring forth evil things in marriage- even if he has swag! #MrMrsBetterHalf
12. Now am I saying that these things don't matter? Of course, they do- they enhance a relationship. However, they do not qualify you to be a good husband. What then makes a good husband? #MrMrsBetterHalf
13. A good husband is someone who can meet the fundamental needs (not wants) of his wife. #MrMrsBetterHalf
14. Today, I will further share on what I consider to be the 5 fundamental needs of a woman. So, what do women need? (a) Love. Don’t confuse this with romance. I will get to romance later. #MrMrsBetterHalf
15. A woman wants unconditional love from a man. Love that is not hinged on her performance or accomplishments. This kind of love is patient, kind, good, doesn’t think, speak or act badly towards her. It is gentle, tender, enduring. #MrMrsBetterHalf
16.It easily forgives, it doesn’t keep record of her flaws or wrongs. It endures, it doesn’t fade with time. This kind of love is deliberate and is powerful. It takes a strong man to love a woman in this manner. #MrMrsBetterHalf
17. This is not the kind of love that says, ‘she must respect me before I love her’ or ‘she has to deserve my love’. A good husband is one that sees loving his wife as a responsibility to God and as a matter of honour. #MrMrsBetterHalf
18. On our own, this kind of love might seem difficult, but with God’s help, we can love our women this way. I must add that to really love your wife you must have a healthy self-esteem. #MrMrsBetterHalf
19. An insecure man cannot love his wife. He will make the whole marriage exercise about hiding his insecurities rather than building up his wife. #MrMrsBetterHalf
20. The 2nd need of a woman is (b) Companionship. Women are relational in nature. They generally do not thrive well in isolation. Eve was not built for isolation. As soon as she was created, God presented her to Adam, and she connected. #MrMrsBetterHalf
21. A lonely woman is more likely to suffer from depression and low self-esteem than a lonely man. Many women have told me they would prefer to be fairly comfortable and have their man around more often. #MrMrsBetterHalf
22. Than to be filthy rich but be alone in a mansion while her husband travels the world making money. A woman wants someone she can share her feelings and ideas with and someone who will reciprocate. #MrMrsBetyerHalf
23. Please note that it is not enough to just listen, you also have to share your heart with her. The exchange is key. Research shows that women are generally stronger in the areas of communication but that is no excuse. #MrMrsBetterHalf
24. Strive to meet the needs of his wife. Take up the challenge to be a good companion. #MrMrsBetterHalf
25. (c) Protection & security. Being the fairer sex who is typically not as physically strong as the male, this is critical. Why do many women typically look out for men that somehow remind them of their good fathers? #MrMrsBetterHalf
26. There is something about the feeling of security a good father brings that a woman instinctively searches out. #MrMrsBetterHalf
27. Demonstrate your ability to protect your women emotionally, physically, psychologically & financially. In addition to putting a roof over her head and paying the bills, protect her self-esteem. #MrMrsBetterHalf
28. Nobody should be able to abuse your wife in any way while you are alive- not your family, friends or strangers. Some men allow their families to insult and humiliate their wives. That is terrible behaviour! #MrMrsBetterHalf
29. Lastly for today, I need you to know that whoever hurts her hurts you. That should always be your attitude. That is good husband material right there. #MrMrsBetterHalf
30. I’ll stop here for today. And I hope this has been helpful to both men and women alike. I'll be back next week to continue with the Part 2 of this conversation. #MrMrsBetterHalf
31. Until then, thank you for following, participating and RTing. May your marriages and relationships be sweet! #MrMrsBetterHalf

1. You're Not Alone!
Despite the challenges this season, God insists that you should dream big and deliver audacious visions. However, when you respond in obedience, you sometimes get stuck at the start line because doubt creeps in before you even take the first step -
2. "I don't think I'm capable”,"I don't
have enough money..."or "I don't know
anyone". Don't fret though, you're not
alone. Moses had doubts about his
purpose too, but God gave him enablers
(Aaron to be his voice & a rod for him to do signs) to help him deliver on his
assignment.
3. God has also placed enablers on your path to greatness, but He doesn't want you to just sit and wait for a miracle. He can and will use anything to help you deliver on your greatness mandate, so don't limit your thinking. Instead, walk in faith with Him & let go of all doubts.

1. The Burning Bush Experience:
How does God get your attention in this
season? Have you been marching solely to the beat of your own drum? Where is God in your goals and timelines; in those experiences that have stopped you abruptly in your tracks and brought you to your knees?
2. The burning bush experience is unusual. It is strange and requires a huge dose of sensitivity to the Spirit & courage to respond to it. In Gen 12:1-2, Abram's trigger was a call to a life of faith - the call for him to relocate from his own country & move to an unknown land.
3. As he moved, God moved the heavens over his life and His promises to Abram began to manifest. The burning bush experience triggers your spirit and awakens your senses to the heartbeat of God demanding that you fall in line with His will.

1. Good morning friends 💙. This is Your Elevation Today (YET) - a daily devotional.

Topic: Live Carefully

David's army were in tens of thousands
and the mighty warriors with technical
know-how of their weapons were in their thousands.
2. The sons of Issachar whose gift was an understanding of the times numbered a mere two hundred. Yet, the Bible says that all their brethren were at their command. In our peculiar and uncertain times, having the gift of discernment would certainly be a plus.
3. Ephesians 5:15-17 says "See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is”.

1. Good morning friends 💙. This is Your Elevation Today (YET) - a daily devotional with @pgeeman

Topic: CATCH THE BIG DREAM

Being a disciple of Christ takes sacrifice, courage and audacity. Boldness is required to capture and run with the grand vision from God.
2. You must plan for the vision and its enlargement; and build on it gradually. A disciple must be audacious enough to deliver for God. Being an audacious disciple of Christ comes with sacrifice and always has a price.
3. To help you on the journey, you must assess what you have, lack, must
abandon and what price you will be willing to pay on the journey. You must also have the resilience to wait for the reward that comes with being a disciple.

1. Good morning friends 💙. This is Your Elevation Today (YET) - a daily devotional with @pgeeman

Topic: Catch the Big Dream

Have you ever passed by an attractive LED billboard without looking at it? It would be hard. Make your vision like a billboard.
2. Write it down in ways that make it attractive to you; that would make you
read it over and over again and follow it
through. God is a God of details but many people are too lazy to capture details. One proof that you are audacious is that you write things down
3. so you can follow through. It takes courage and audacity to capture a grand vision from God and run with it. Sometimes a vision is like a tower - an
edifice-type future that requires building
up. How well are you following through
with the vision God has put in your heart?
