Since then, much more #opendata has become available thanks to tireless efforts @ONgov, #OHDP@janephilpott, public health units and more. Ontario’s leaders now have a full view of "what is going on" to guide decision making. covid-19.ontario.ca/data
Now, as we are led deeper into a second wave, it has become clear that individuals making decisions for their families and their businesses will dictate the course of this pandemic while we await a vaccine. Friends, family and coworkers are asking "what does this mean for me?"
Our new website shifts the power of this information from health system 🏰 to household decision-makers 🙋♀️💁♂️🧑🍼🧑🦽🧕🕴️🕴️♀️.
"Gimme my damn data" as my friend @ePatientDave famously says.
Our updated howsmyflattening.ca speaks directly to the people of Ontario. Defaulting to "personal mode", you can track trends of 5 key indicators to see whether we are eliminating, flattening or permitting spread of COVID-19 in your community. @IrfanDhalla
You can also switch to geek mode (my favourite feature) to find things like %positivity in your neighborhood (FSA = first 3 digits of your postal code) using data from @ICESOntario#OHDP
You can also now sign up for daily email updates. As soon as Ontario and public health units have manually published their morning data, an automated summary of COVID-19 daily data and trends (around 11am) will land in your inbox.
