Saeed Ibn Aamr RA
He is not a very known companion but he has a very touching story. He was a young man in Mecca not muslim yet, after the battle of badr he noticed the people of quraish got hold of a companion of the prophet named Khubaib RA, which was suffering in their hands,

they wanted to kill him on behalf of everyone they lost in that battle and Saeed was watching, he said as they were beating him he asked to pray two rukaat and they said ok so he washed himself faced the kibla and started a beautiful prayer with no worries so after he finished

salah he looked at ppl of quraish all of them were ready with their knives so he looked at them and said if I didn’t know you guys would say I’m scared of death I would of taken longer in may salah because im scared of the way ill die and not death, so they started to cut him

alive ( I’ll tell his story later in details), so Saeed was shocked by how much Khubaib loved the prophet and Allah, he couldn’t sleep, he couldn’t take his face his words out of his mind, so he started to question the deen of Muhammad, he wanted to find out what is it, a few

time later he went to ppl of quraish and freed himself of what they did to Khubaib RA and stated that he was not part of them anymore, that he was going to Medina and accept the message of Muhammad pbuh, so he went and spent time there and participated in battles,he lived during

the time of Abu Bakr Alsiddik RA, Omar Al Farouk RA , he use to advise them too, everyone knew him as a very righteous pious man and a man not interested in the worldly life, at the time of Omar RA khalifa he was appointed as the governor of Hums (Syria) but he did not wanted any

salary for it, he said that if he gave him something it would be extra place them to sadaka, so one time ppl from Hums came and Omar RA asked them to write the names of the most poor ppl in Hums from amongst them he saw Saeed so he asked them who is Saeed Ibn Amr and they told

him he is the governor so immediately Omar sent him gold with a note when he got it he said Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un so he’s wife got shocked asking what happened did the Amer died? He said not worst she said did the muslims lost a battle? He said no worst so she says

what happened? He said materialism have entered my life to destroy my hereafter, so his wife told him well get rid of it she didn’t know abt the coins then she saw it and she had to help him get rid of it cz she said she would SubhanaAllah he gave the poor. few time later Omar

came to Hums and asked how’s your Amer so they complained a lot so he called Saeed to come in front of the people who complained putting the facing each other and told the people to say their complains which were 4
1.This man doesn’t come out to us until late in the morning.

Saeed then said I do not have a servant in the house I have to cook and make sure I’ve made everything in the house then I make my wudhu and come out to see the people.
2. At night he doesn’t respond we knock but he doesn’t answer

Saeed said I don’t want to tell ppl what I do

but the day is for my people and the night is for Allah
3.This man one or two days of the month he doesn’t come out at all.

So said said Oh Omar I only have one pair of clothes and that what am wearing so I have to wash it one of the days in the morning and wait till it drys

and its evening so I get out the next day
4. Sometimes this man loses concentration when we are talking to him then he asks us what were we saying

Saeed then says wallahi Omar I cannot forget the day that Khubaib was killed in front of me and he described the whole story and

Omar was in tears as well as the other companions and the ppl of hums, I was there I could of helped I wonder if Allah will forgive me.Saeed was a man who served his family so much, he was a very calm collected man,he always helped the others there is so much to learn from him RA
