This companion is a encyclopedia himself. The first Uttering the Quran. He was very small in stature, very thin, very short, but he was one of the most knowledgeable amongst the companions of Muhammad pbuh, he comes from a very very poor background in Mecca

he use to work for Okbah, when revelation came to the prophet he was a little boy, he use to take the sheep of Okbah he was a shepherd, he heard about the messenger but he did not know who he was cz he wasn’t from inside the city of Mecca he use to spend his time away as he was a

shepherd, so Abdullah says one time he was with the sheeps and two man came to him ( the Prophet and Abu bakr) they asked him if they can give him some milk, then they asked can u give us a sheep tht has not produced any milk so Abdullah said yes that I can do, so the Prophet

touched the sheep and made a dua, so the sheep started to five milk and the others swallowed and all of them drinked from it he was shocked when he finished he touched the other sheeps and all returned as it was, so he asked the prophet to teach him the words he said and the

prophet told him you are an educated youngster don’t worry you will have this knowledge subhanaAllah, few days later he sat with the prophet and accepted Islam, he was considered one of the youngster who accepted islam at the beginning, one day he told the prophet I don’t want to

serve Okbah any more I want to serve you and the prophet took him, he use to hold the prophet shoes, stick, hold the door of his house, so the prophet told him he could enter his house anytime without permission and he use to know all the secrets of his house, so he was granted

this two gifts, he was known as sahib el sawadeine wal naaleine and saheb el sakein. He use to follow every footstep of the prophet just like Anas RA. One day the companions were saying you know quraish has not yet heard the quran being recited loudly, so who could read the quran

loudly right outside the kaaba for quraish, and Abdullah a young boy said I’ll do that, so the companions said you? They will beat you up, so he said Allah will protect me, so he went and the leader of quraish were there and he started to recite surah Ar Rahman, quraish were

listening very carefully and impressed, so when they realized what he was saying was what Muhammad was teaching they started to beat him up, he went to the companions who told him didn’t we tell u this would happen he said I would do this all over again, he use to fear saying

hadith because he use to fear saying something wrong so he would narrate it exactly or say at the end or something near that because he would fear so much of saying something wrong. When Omar Ra was the Ameer of the believers he appointed Abdullah as the governor of the bank

(beitul Mal) specific islamicly so he send him to kufa, one time ppl from kufa came for hajj and Omar asked them how is things in kufa and they told him you know there is a man who recites quran cover to cover from his head (memorized), Omar gor mad at first he was scared someone

was doing something wrong so he asked them who is this man and they told its Abdullah so Omar relaxed and told them that man is an encyclopedia of knowledge and told them a story about him that is narrated to us he said one time he was with the prophet and Abu barkr they entered

the masjid and there was a young man performing salah reciting quran perfectly with a beautiful voice we didn’t not know who he was but the prophet knew and he said who ever wants to recite quran as it was revealed should read it exactly as Abdullah Ibn Masood, as he finished his

salah he started to make dua and the prophet said ask and u will be given. One day the prophet called him and asked him recite for me the quran,he said oh messenger you want me to recite for you the quran and it was revealed upon you, he replied I love to hear when u are reciting

it and he started to recite sura Al Nisa. Abdullah was not given wealth, this man was not given a body, high stature, but when he came to islam Allah gave him knowledge, honor, and a good mention up to the day of qiyama. One day he was climbing a tree in order to cut a siwak for

the prophet and the companions begun to laugh at his calves, and the prophet said you are laughing at this mans calves but in the scale of Allah they are heavier than the mount of Uhhud so he was known as the saheb el sakein, he was a person who would read quran perfectly,

respected, he had a deep understanding of Islam. One day Ali RA was with a group of ppl who was speaking abt Abdullah they said this man is the best teacher, he has patience, great character deep knowledge and Ali Ra said I bare witness of what u r saying is correct and more he

was a man that whenever he read the quran whatever was halal he ensured that he considered halal, what was haram he made sure to consider haram and prohibited for himself, he adopted the quran not only recited. At the time of Othman RA khalifa he removed him from his position in

Kufa, all people of kufa loved him and its hard to have all people of kufa to love someone in agreement and ppl didn’t want him to leave but he said I heard the prophet saying there will be a time of fitan and I don’t want to be the door of it I will go back and obey the khalifa

of muslims. He went back to Medina where he passed away in the year 32 hijre. This man has a lot of beautiful teachings one of them is the greatest richness is contentment, the best of provision is pioty, the worst of blindness is the blindness of the heart, the greatest of sins

is to tell a lie,the worst of earnings is if u earn through interest,and the worst u could eat is if u eat from the wealth of an orphan,and if u forgive Allah will forgive u,and if u want to protect urself for the sake of Allah he will provide for u.May Allah be pleased with him.
