Me : It's an example of a path, an option. There are many options. Some will work, otherwise will not for various practical, political and legal reasons. I do not know what the path we've chosen is.

Me : That's just a statement of intent. A bit like leaving was just an action. Behind this there will be options, plans and many calculations. Endless rounds of scenario planning over the last four years ... I would expect this to be the case.

Me : Yes. Isn't that what we're trying to do with the EU? Obviously they want NI, but for practical reasons if this was our play then we'd want Kent. Multiple regions with different FTAs, cross border trade internally? I can see value in that.

Me : That depends. If we get four FTAs setup in England then surely the play is re-unification of Ireland, independence for Scotland and Wales? A referendum on NI in exchange for a US FTA for a region in England? I imagine some play has been thought of.

Me : Multiple FTAs in the UK? Doesn't the withdrawal agreement set the precedent with NI? Just extend this concept. You have freedom of movement of people with the UK. It's just an option. There will be many. I don't know what their play is.
