We’re focused on getting you the support you need and keeping you safe. That’s why we’ve been working with the provinces and territories, and that’s why we’re investing more than $19 billion through our Safe Restart Agreement. Here’s what this investment will do: ⤵️
It will help increase testing and contact tracing. It will protect your loved ones who are most vulnerable. And it will support the capacity of our health care systems, and the procurement of personal protective equipment, so you can stay safe as we restart our economy.
It will make sure your community - and all communities who have been at the forefront of this pandemic - can keep running and help our economy come back strong. And it will help them deliver the services that you rely on, like public transit.

Whether you’re currently studying or you’ve recently graduated, we know the COVID-19 has had an impact on your internships, placements, and job searches. So here’s what we’re doing to make sure you can gain the experience you need and contribute to your community: ⤵️
We’re launching the Canada Student Service Grant. If you’re a student or recent graduate and you volunteer to serve in your community’s COVID-19 response, you could get a one-time payment of between $1,000 and $5,000 with this grant - depending on the number of hours you serve.
We’re supporting 20,000 more job placements in high-demand sectors through the Student Work Placement Program, creating 10,000 new job placements for young people through Canada Summer Jobs, and creating 5,000 new internships for post-secondary students through @MitacsCanada.

Whether you’re a student living away from home and worried about covering your expenses, or you’re a recent graduate looking for work, we know the COVID-19 pandemic has affected you too. So here’s what we’re doing to support you today, this summer, and next year. ⤵️
We’re launching the Canada Emergency Student Benefit. With this benefit, you’ll get $1,250 a month from May to August. And if you’re taking care of someone or if you have a disability, that amount will go up to $1,750 each month.
We’re also launching the new Canada Student Service Grant. If you’re volunteering this summer and you’re helping in the fight against COVID-19, this grant will provide you up to $5,000 for your education in the fall. Your energy and your skills can do a lot of good right now.

There’s no doubt these are tough times - but so many of you right across the country are stepping up to help your neighbours and even complete strangers. I couldn’t include every example below because there are too many, but here’s some #MondayMotivation for you. ⤵️
We’re only going to get through this by pulling together - and that’s exactly what many of you have been doing from the beginning. Here’s a good look at the “caremongering” movement that has inspired acts of kindness in communities across the country. washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/…
For example, check out this story from Calgary. The staff at Angel’s Cafe used their last delivery of supplies to make meals for anyone in need, and now they’re using the cafe to prepare hampers for those who are in isolation and can’t buy groceries. cochranetoday.ca/local-news/car…

We’re pulling out all the stops to get you the help you need during this difficult time - and we’ve set up a comprehensive 3-point plan to support you, your business, and your workers. Here’s what we’re doing. ⤵️
With the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy, we’re helping you keep your workers on the payroll. If your revenues have decreased by at least 30% because of COVID-19, your business is eligible. It applies to non-profits and charities, as well as companies both big and small.
With the Canada Emergency Response Benefit, we’re helping you if you’ve lost your income. Whether you worked full time, on contract, or were self-employed, we’ll give you $2,000 a month for up to 4 months. Learn more about this benefit here: bit.ly/2Uvrscz
