😢I cry for El Paso—Inmates move hundreds of bodies into mobile morgues; National Guard now does grim task; Funeral homes turn storage closets to freezers; crematorium broke from overuse; convention center now a field hospital; lacking gravesites. #COVID19 washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/11…
2) we must take ACTION not just ourselves but convince everyone around you to act to stop pandemic.
3) this is El Paso... they plan to add 3000 sq ft of morgue refrigeration storage.
6) Birthday party—Attack rate: 100%. 12 people attended a birthday party, 12 people all infected by #COVID19, including kids, +3 others later. Kids all developed “strong coughs”. Grandmother hospitalized. All for a damn birthday party. ktla.com/news/nationwor…
7) The birthday party (above) and this nightclub both in Texas... wildfire not ending because people are not listening and leadership is not setting good messaging and taking much action.
8) hospitalizations and ICU patients both at new record highs.

📍DEADLY CHURCH EVENTS: 213 #COVID19 cases and 12 deaths after NC church held large gatherings in early Oct without enforcing masks or social distancing.

➡️Yet WH muzzled CDC when it tried to restricted ⛪️, & SCOTUS also overturned / banned church limits.

2) Here was how WH muzzled the CDC on risky church activities.
3) Just days ago, US Supreme Court ruled that states could not enforce strict attendance limits on places of worship, even in areas designated coronavirus hot spots. Welp, so much for church advocates being pro life. #COVID19 npr.org/sections/coron…

⚠️Restaurants appear to be among the most riskiest and common places to get infected with the #COVID19, but we still don’t trace close to enough. How sure are we about bars and restaurants being major spreaders? Pretty darn sure. 🧵
californiahealthline.org/news/failed-co… Image
2) Out of the many social distancing restrictions states chose to implement at the beginning of the pandemic, shutting down restaurants had the strongest correlation to reducing the spread of the disease, according to researchers at U of Vermont. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P… Image
3) In Japan, investigators use contact tracing to identify clusters of disease where people live or congregate. Out of about 3,000 cases confirmed from January to April in that country, investigators could identify 61 clusters, 16% of which were in restaurants or bars.

Still can’t let go of this:

Purdue Pharma is so corrupt in opioid peddling, but Sackler family doesn’t get any jail...

Despite Sackler family being exclusive deciders of the scheme.

And neither jail or fines for McKinsey that concocted the disgusting opioid $ kickback scheme. Image
2) it’s all here. nytimes.com/2020/11/27/bus…
3) opioid peddling kickback scheme exclusively decided by Sackler family. Yet they just get a fine and only have to reorganize their company. Zero jail time. Image

POWERFUL:

📌Each marble = 1 death.

📌Each second of the video = 6 days.

Let this video sink in. #COVID19 is real. And it’s about to get even worse in December. An even bigger mortality tsunami is coming. 😢
2) meanwhile Black Friday in America...
3) And it continues. I don’t enjoy posting doom. I’m an epidemiologist— and a realist on the serious risks facing us. I share this to engage the Public to act and for our policy leaders to act. This is the fierce urgency of the now.

BREAKING—New record high of >91,000 in US hospitalized with #COVID19, *205k new cases (*despite 20 states not reports on Thxgiving).

...oh and we also smashed 13 million total cases too. It took just 5.5 days. And yeah, that’s a record too. (Sigh). December 🌊 is coming too.
2) But meanwhile in Miramar Beach, Florida... no masks. @GovRonDeSantis also just extended his blocking of any mask enforcements too.
3) One death is a tragedy. A hundred, a statistic. So let’s visualize all the deaths together. Hope this Spurs action.
