One explanation for COVID denialism. The #ETTD theory, "Everything Trump Touches Dies," creates a situation where people cling to clearly wrong policy/beliefs because the alternative, life without Trump, is not sustainable, because of criminal acts carried out under Trump. (more)
2/ Fraud is illegal in the United States, and appellate attorneys lying to courts and to citizens is just the most recent manifestation of fraud. Trump was built on fraud, sustained by fraud, and is clinging to his last hopes of remaining in power by fraud. (more)
3/ But #ETTD kicks in when those in Trump's circles perpetuate fraud, knowing untruths intending to deceive. These conspirators are captured. If Trump is no longer the Executive, they are vulnerable to criminal prosecution. (more)
4/ So these people who perpetuated fraud, feel they need to continue on with that fraud, whether that be COVID, the manufactured distrust of our elections, or other mistruths. Because, when one fraud is exposed for what it is, other frauds become more suspect as well. (more)
/5 This year, the victim of the perpetuation of fraud has been American citizens who have been injured in their livelihoods and health, or even killed, by COVID. The United States has fared far, far, worse than other countries throughout the world, because of #ETTD. (more)
/6 The problem in the United States with COVID started with CDC's well-intentioned fib -- "Masks not recommended for citizens" -- which was intended to give hospitals the time they needed to accumulate the personal protection equipment (PPE) they needed. (more)
/7 But the CDC fib exploded into full-blown fraud when Trump, who didn't like masks, used the cover of the CDC and Fauci to not wear masks himself. People who hated masks clung to Trump's welcome position, and amplified it. This created our March/April COVID disaster. (more)
/8 So, in April/May we have a situation where a Trump fraud created a worst-in-world COVID crisis. The solution? Downplay the virus to remain in power by any means possible. Trump's perceived strength among voters was in the economy, so his focus was on that. (more)
/9 The first state in the United States to reopen after necessary shutdowns was Oklahoma, where its governor @GovStitt touted a business advantage -- dubbed #Covantage -- to opening up first. Trump adopted the Stitt strategy, and "rewarded" Oklahoma with the Tulsa rally. (more)
/10 Of course, indoor rallies were a very bad idea, and the rally caused much COVID spread, likely leading to the death of a well-known politician, Herman Cain. Predictably, this situation of being cornered like a rat by science and bad news, created more fraud upon fraud. (more)
/11 COVID was perpetuated as a hoax, only killing the old and weak, it would just disappear, fade away. Desperate hopes for those captured by #ETTD and Trump frauds. There is much evidence of changing COVID strategies to "downplay the virus" and perpetuate the hoax myth. (more)
/12 In Oklahoma, people were fired to perpetuate the myth, or resigned, because they refused to perpetuate a dangerous fraud. The Health Department was reduced to a mere data gatherer, decisions on COVID were made by hired consultants and those in the Governor's office. (more)
/13 Governor-level decisions in Oklahoma went as far as determining the mode of how data would be released, even though a State Epidemiologist is ultimately responsible for data quality. Intent of @GovStitt was clearly fraudulent in line with #ETTD and Trump's dialogue. (more)
/14 Seemingly, every way the COVID picture could be made rosier was tried by @GovStitt, ensuring test capacity was insufficient to prevent reopening because of test lags, holding back test samples, failing to report inconvenient deaths, lying about hospital capacity... (more)
/15 ...shifting test results to late July to create a false case peak, relying on that false peak to perpetuate fraud to @WhipClyburn and Dr. Birx, ignoring CDC protocol to count rapid tests as cases while rapidly expanding the use of rapid tests... (more)
/16 ...covering up rising test positivity rates by mandating surveillance testing of low positivity populations such as nursing homes, all while perpetuating and modeling the Trump fraud that COVID was not dangerous enough to stifle the economy in Oklahoma and the USA. (more)
/17 While I use @GovStitt as an example of one captured by Trump's frauds, Stitt is not the only politician, businessman, or keyboard warrior impacted by #ETTD. A lot of people have painted themselves into a corner, and have no way out other than Trump remaining in power. (more)
/18 So the fraud just keeps growing and growing, layer upon layer, in the vain hopes that COVID will just disappear, and Trump will remain in power to shield them from impending doom, that is, exposure of their illegal acts. (more)
/19 But the illegal acts will not go away. The fraudulent flailings are all captured on Twitter, Facebook, Parler, e-mails, recordings, in whistleblower testimony, etc. Everyone involved is tainted, and the only perceived shield is to amplify and perpetuate the frauds. (more)
/20 This very long thread is not intended to be political, as absent drastic, country-shattering actions, a Biden ascendency to power is all but assured. It is intended to avert further COVID disaster, to help explain the misinformation you are hearing, and its motivation. (more)
/21 My self-adopted role on COVID in Oklahoma is provide the best information possible to decision-makers. This started with speaking to a superintendent in August, continuing since then, to the point I was eventually labeled as an "Armchair Epidemiologist" in a podcast. (more)
/22 I am not an epidemiologist, but I am a chemical engineer & Georgetown Law trained attorney, with more than enough background to understand COVID data, the mechanisms of COVID spread, and the legality of the processes surrounding Oklahoma COVID response. (more)
/23 I represent no one, and have made not one single dime from my efforts over the past 4+ months. I place my bar cards on the line by making these well-researched allegations. I only bring them out now in full because of the truly desperate situation we are in right now. (more)
/24 Our Oklahoma hospitals will fill up, they will be turning people away or providing insufficient care, and death counts are already set up to triple in the coming days, if they already have not already. This is not fear mongering, this is a statistical certainty. (more)
/25 A statistical certainty, which has already been seen in the afflicted being sent home to die in South Texas, the "pit" and morgue trailers of El Paso, and the obscene death and infection rates in the Dakotas. (more)
/26 There is no line of reasoning which indicates that Oklahoma will fare any differently than those areas: vaccines do not cure current infection and there are no widely available, game-changer therapeutics. (more)
/27 To go full-bore into the inevitable COVID explosion of this winter is the definition of insanity. Repeating the same thing -- holiday parties, Black Friday shopping, fully opening schools, etc. -- over and over again and expecting a different result. (more)
/28 Expecting a different result is pure folly. Warnings of scientists/medical professionals on COVID are out there, one just needs to push away the cloud of the Trump-driven, #ETTD frauds to see them. Look at motivations of your information sources, and pick accordingly. (more)
/29 Your, your loved-ones', and your neighbors' well-being and lives literally depend on your ability to discern the truth from the fraudulent. I hope this small effort on my part assists the few that read this on their difficult task to do so. (more)
