This Thanksgiving, we have a lot to be grateful for here at The Master’s University. Through this unprecedented semester, God has sustained our institution and provided for it in remarkable ways. In the spring, He provided financially
after we closed our campus and pivoted to remote learning for the rest of the semester. This cost the school nearly two million dollars. In God’s providence, gracious ministry partners came alongside our school to lessen the impact of the stay-at-home orders on our institution.
Because of their generosity, The Master’s University has not had to lay-off a single employee through the ongoing pandemic.
In August, TMU welcomed the second largest Freshmen class in school history. While many institutions of higher learning were struggling with
declining enrollment, TMU saw a meaningful increase for the residential and online programs. We were grateful for the increased enrollment, but we knew there would be challenges this semester. To ensure the health and safety of our students, we instituted a campus reopening plan
that included a hybrid model of instruction, with remote classes and in-person instruction for majors that support the essential workforce. Thankfully, this hybrid model did not take away our ability to educate for eternal influence. Much of the TMU experience was intact, as was
the educational quality, and though there were a handful of COVID-19 cases on campus, we were able to navigate the semester without any serious COVID-19 related illness among our students, faculty, or staff.
We are also grateful that last Tuesday, November 17, The Master’s
University regional accreditation was reaffirmed for the next six years. That length of accreditation is granted to few colleges and is a strong affirmation of the quality of our education and the strength of our institution. After a constructive site visit in July, the WASC team
recommended that the probationary period be lifted. That officially happened last Tuesday. With this reaffirmation of our accreditation, TMU is ready to add new degree programs and expand the classes we can offer at the university. We praise the Lord for this. It’s another
reminder of His faithfulness to our institution, as well as the quality of our education.
Lastly, The Master’s University is grateful for you, our alumni. From here in Southern California to the ends of the earth, TMU alumni like yourself are “the salt of the earth and the light
Vamping.
No proof of this.
These "gracious ministry partners"...why weren't they asked first instead of "pleading" with current students, who were already so impacted by the lockdown, to donate their room and board?
Yes, they did.
You fired three long-term (over 20+ years) to make room for three new employees: Jonny Ardavanis, Corey Williams (formerly of Grace to You), Chief Communications Officer, and another whose name escapes me, all three have ties, familial ties to the school and no
qualifications for their current position. Not a single interview was given and no serious employment ad or search was undertaken. Defying the WASC recommendations...again.
Jonny Ardavanis edited chapel video to omit footage of maskless students and a crowded Chapel service.
**Increased enrollment because you lied to incoming parents about the protocols.
**Lied to the LADPH about the number of students who were infected.
The current Health Order at that time did not allow TMU or TMS to even open, but you defied it and opened anway!
***Yes, but TMU has very few majors that "support the essential workforce", but you allowed all majors to enroll despite knowing that you weren't supposed to.
"handful"? A handful?
--When it was 2, you denied having any.
--When it was 3, and according to the LADPH considered an "outbreak", you continued holding Chapel without masks and social distancing.
--Now, that's it's 17, you call it a "handful". Is this really truthful?
***Nice to focus on the positive...
The environment still remains of "fear, intimidation and bullying". From the emails I've received, the WASC accreditation report was merely a formality. They were never going to lose accreditation. Follow the timeline, after the visit...the
improvements that were made were undone when you continued to hire family and friends, loyal to Grace Church and John, without qualifications or the ability to bring issues to the attention of the Board. Yes men, who would do whatever Sam Horn had to say. This is not my opinion
but the emails from faculty that I have received over the months.
I don't understand what people fuss about
Seems like they're all angry all the time
Mindin' everybody's business like it was their own
I can barely find the time for mine
I believe in love and leavin' well enough alone
You won't catch me castin' that first stone
You may not share my point of view
Or see the world the way I do
I hope that doesn't matter much to you
I don't have to be self righteous even if I'm right
Please excuse me if you think
that's wrong
I've been told that I'm a sinner nearly all my life
But so is everyone I've ever known
I believe in leavin' judgment for somebody else
Someone more deserving than myself
You may not share my point of view
Or see the world the way I do
I hope that doesn't matter much
-any pastor who associated salvation with a vote
-any church that had one Bible, but 4 US flags
-any church with the name "Patriot" anywhere on their bulletin or signage
-any pastor who started a tweet with "Friendly Reminder"
-any pundit who mixed evangelicalism in a Vitamix
-anyone who forgot that God is Sovereign and are figuring out how to "restore" their Biden supporters back into fellowship
-any elder, deacon, or person who pressured others to "examine their life" for deep rooted sin because they didn't vote the way they should
Great article about a church in La Habra, meeting outdoors and really caring about their community. I'm not familiar with Orange County's Health Order, but in this instance it is the City of La Habra that is making things hard on them.
A Latino church. No DC connections. Going above and beyond to comply.
A not-so-Latino church in a Latino community mocking and flaunting COVID guidelines for the censure of the world every week, while promoting a Romans 13 adherence on
@gracetoyou listened to by millions of people worldwide.
Me: Trying to explain to older people about the kerfuffle on Twitter yesterday. I know so many older people on Facebook only, who have never been on Twitter and don't know the hellscape it can be. I envy them. lol
So, basically, I followed a friend onto a thread and made a
light comment. It was basically saying, "hey, I'm not with those guys. Don't judge all of us by this guy's conduct, some of us have bible degrees..". It was a joke. They were calling a group of about 200 people apostates, of which I belong, and I was making a light comment.
So, the original tweeter lifted that comment (he had over 4,000 followers) and used my quote to continue his "look at these biblical elitists over here", so then...his followers RTd my quote and everyone was talking about how I "made education my idol" and how I was a devil,
From a recent email from a @MastersSeminary student:
Entering the GCC campus, I walk by a neighboring house with a poster that says “love thy neighbor, wear a mask.” Then I pass the two security guards, unmasked, to enter the only entrance of “Grace” that’s not currently gated
off. What bitter irony. The other day, an unmasked guard sneezed and then coughed loudly and said at the top of his lungs, “Sorry, I have the Covid! I have the Covid!!” as his friend laughed heartily".
I get bad looks like I’m a pariah. The ones who mask up have warmed up to me,
you can tell they appreciate it. They’re tired of being the “strange ones”. They didn’t sign up for this. No one social distances at the desks, save for my few friends. No one except us wipes down the tables as we’re supposedly required to do. But if the culture is “it’s all fake
Whoever you vote for, just wanted to say that when you wake up the next morning, you're still saved, loved by the Lord Jesus Christ, and are still living in 2020.
I realize there's going to be a lot of fighting (candy corn jokes aside), but calling people you disagree with
names, or calling into question their "salvation" @johnmacarthur is cheap. It's unbecoming. Did this honestly happen during the last election?
That was 24 years ago, right? BC-Before COVID?
All governments are ordained by God, like it or not.
The Early Church thrived during
such Times of persecution, real persecution, and yet we can't even be civil to each other in the comfort of our air conditioned homes.
The world, not America, is becoming increasingly hostile to Christians, I get that. A political solution doesn't solve a spiritual problem.
