On 09/10 Dec 1971, Beas intercepted 'Anwar Baksh' a Pakistani merchant ship masquerading as "MV Azul Hasan Maru" (1/n).

Anwar Baksh was carrying Pakistani soldiers disguised as labourers. Already suspicious of the vessel, Beas immediately despatched 18 of her bravest, under the leadership of Lt Cdr Bazaz, to board, apprehend & seize the vessel (2/n).

Lt Cdr Bazaz and his team fearlessly faced the threatening crew onboard and with their courage and professionalism, brought the situation under control. Anwar Baksh was brought to Sandheads and the crew taken as prisoners (3/n).
