We just crossed $13,000!

I didn’t mean this thread to talk about fundraising, but it’s hard to see the hundreds of thousands raised by SuperPACs from well intentioned online donors who don’t realize that these folks are not in Georgia and not using that money best.
I really don’t want to be a downer but after this election we should talk more about the way a lot of Democratic money that should be going to candidates is going to superPACs like Democratic Coalition, Really American, MeidasTouch, Win Back PAC.

And more.
These are groups with no footprint in Georgia, with no one to hold them accountable, who have seriously gamed Twitter so that most of the fundraising links you see retweeted by the massive accounts, including celebrities like Bette Midler, go to them.

It’s widespread.
Really American is so all in on fundraising for Georgia they’ve been created a *2nd* fundraiser just to put up billboards.

I promise, billboards will not win Georgia.

Nor will ads, especially from outside groups that mostly share the online to *fundraise more.*
My point here is not to accuse these groups of fraud, though I do think a lot of folks *think* they are donating to the candidates.

It’s just that this money can be used better, and these groups make it more difficult for *folks like me* to fundraise.
I’ve even seen some of *my own graphics* like this one, show up in the comments of tweets from these groups, which help them get even more eyes on those tweets.

Please don’t use my art to fundraise for superPACs,

You’re welcome to use it, but please include my link.
Sorry, this is the graphic I mean.

For folks who think this ad is going to be effective here... it won’t.

We’ve had so many of these, and this is the least compelling one yet.

Of course the ad was coming, but the answer was the right one, and I maintain that.
I know this might be an unpopular opinion among my followers, but dragging Ossoff for this is unhelpful and extremely frustrating.

No, the fact that this ad was created does not prove your point.

We know it was. This ad is *weak.*

Stop knifing our own candidates.
Ossoff gave the exact right answer, which is why the worst they have of him in this ad is the same “I welcome his support” played twice, with nothing else connecting him to Bernie.

If you think it’s effective, it’s because it reinforces your priors.

Some non-Georgians on this bird app seem to be addicted to this idea that they (1) understand the dynamics on the ground here and (2) think that Democrats win by always pretending we’re behind.

Personally, I’m ready to blow up both ideas.
(1) If you’re not in Georgia, you’re wrong about Georgia.

I can almost guarantee that.

Y’all read a few articles and think you know this state, but you don’t.

Maybe you know what it was like 5, 10, 20 years ago.

But not today.
Yes, historically the GOP is heavily favored in runoff elections.

No, we have no data in recent enough memory to assume that’s still true. In fact, I think it’s very much not true.

Democrats are in a much better position right now relative to the GOP by all available measures.

Holy shit. We need to talk about this deliberately misleading graph from the Georgia Department of Public Health.

It’s hard to figure out how they got this desired shape, because the explanation below sounds nonsensical.

They’re basically back-dating almost *all* new cases. Image
Instead of graphing new cases when they are reported, they guesstimate when the onset of symptoms happened or when the test was taken.

That constantly pushes up the area under the arch, but almost guarantees the “new” cases remain near zero.
Yesterday Georgia reported over 1000 new cases. But instead of graphing those as April 30 cases they spread them out earlier in the curve so that the curve *always looks like it’s approaching zero.*

This is just nuts. It’s hard to find the words to explain how crazy this is.

The thing about Walker Bragman Twitter (i.e., Glenn Greenwald’s super ego), is that there’s simply no logical argument for it’s supposed virtues.

It’s literally ALL self-righteous posturing and constant, nasty negativity.

There’s no hope. No fight for a cause.
Take a look at this timeline. It’s all just a barrage of smears against Beto or now Kamala and will be for every single Democrat who supports progressive policy but is actually an evil fraud, corrupt, bought by Wall Street, lying about *all* of their progressive positions.
And he does have a real following. His followers are nasty, racist, sexist trolls.

They respond like frat bros high giving each other for their latest conquest tearing down another woman.

And mock and deride *everyone* outside their leftist bubble.
