"The status of COVID can change overnight" says Dr. Janice Fitzgerald.
She says changing information can be difficult. She says be careful about where you get your information, don't ask social media, turn to WHO, provincial or federal site #covid19nfld
Fitzgerald says you should NOT be planning parties and gatherings, a lot can change in the next few weeks. She says she's concerned about news of office parties being planned.

Health Minister John Haggie says he's heard about New Years parties, where people aren't allowed to take pictures.
He says there's no conceivable reason for that.

"You'll go home from a place like that with more than a hangover if you're not careful" #covid19nfld
Haggie is cautioning people that Youtube is not the most reliable place for peer reviewed COVID research #covid19nfld
Some people in Grand Bank have finished their isolation but not everyone has. Same situation in Deer Lake.
"We're watching things closely" says some people may develop symptoms

Decision on rejoining Atlantic bubble will come Monday (the 2 weeks will be up), mostly based on situation in other provinces but no hints about what they may decide #covid19nfld
Premier says he's "very confident" they'll be ready to roll out vaccines once they're available #covid19nfld
"I want to temper people's expectations of what happens when we get a vaccine," says Dr. Fitzgerald.
She says the vaccines will come in small numbers at the beginning, so it won't be like the flu clinics where you need to vaccinate large numbers at one time #covid19nfld
Right now NL can do 2,500 COVID tests a day
We will add 800 a day by March.
That's on top of rapid test kits (which are going through validation now) #covid19nfld
