17 new cases of COVID-19 announced in Nova Scotia today (Wednesday). 1/
16 are in the Central Zone, including the case connected to St. Margaret's Bay Elementary school, which was announced last night. The other case is in the Northern Zone, and is related to travel 2/
There are now 127 known active cases in the province. No one is currently in hospital with the disease. 3/
There were 3,295 tests conducted at the NSHA's labs yesterday, so a positivity rate of about 0.5%. 4/
Another 247 tests were conducted at the rapid-testing pop-up site in Halifax and 453 tests at the rapid-testing pop-up site in Wolfville. 1 person in Wolfville tested positive and is directed to get a PCR test at the NSHA lab; that person is not included in the 17 cases above 5/
I'll have updated graphs momentarily. 6/
Here are the new daily cases and 7-day rolling average:
And here is the active case load since the start of the pandemic (it's taken a slight dip today, so I'll separate out the second wave for next graph):
Here's the active caseload for the second wave (from Oct. 1):
I've also updated the potential COVID exposure advisory map, to delete locations/times where the advisories have expired. I expect there may be additional advisories later today, and if so, I'll add those: google.com/maps/d/u/0/edi…

After police gave him $17,550, Paul Smith became the main Crown witness in Randy Riley's 2018 murder trial. Riley was convicted.... 2/
But last year, Smith came forward to say he had lied on the stand, and that his testimony against Riley was false. Moreover, it appears the Crown knew Smith lied on the stand, and did nothing about it. Now, Smith has disappeared. 3/
