Dogs are Haram’ - There were times when I was reprimanded by my friends for patting a dog’s forehead & they still do. ‘It’s just a pat! And They’re created by the same God who created you’ was my reply to their disapproving stares or atleast that’s what
I convinced my little self. It was not until recently I stumbled upon an article which spoke about Muslims hurling stones & killing dogs because they consider it ‘unhygienic’ & then there’s some Muslims who approach the veterinary doc just to have the dogs
killed with lethal injections! The sole reason for this is the half-baked knowledge they possess. If we’re to look at Quran, we’re bound to learn that Dogs were companions of Humans.
In chapter 18, the story of a group of youths is described, who hid inside a cave to escape a religious persecution. God made them fall in sleep and they had woken up some 300 years later. When the people of the cave were sleeping, their dog accompanied them.
There is disagreement about how many people were there, but there is no disagreement that Dog was there.
Thou mightest deem them awake, whilst they are asleep; and We shall cause them to turn over to the right and to the left, their dog stretching out his forelegs on the threshold. If thou hadst had a look at them, thou wouldst surely have turned away from them
in fright, and wouldst surely have been filled with awe of them.

A Few Hadith on Animals -
• Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A prostitute had once been forgiven. She passed by a dog panting near a well. Thirst had nearly killed him, so she took off her sock, tied it to her veil, and drew up some water.
Allah forgave her for that”.

• Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man suffered from thirst while he was walking on a journey. When he found a well, he climbed down into it and drank from it. Then he came out and saw a dog lolling
its tongue from thirst and licking the ground. The man said: This dog has suffered thirst just as I have suffered from it. He climbed down into the well, filled his shoe with water, and caught it in his mouth as he climbed up. Then he gave the dog a drink.
Allah appreciated this deed, so he forgave him.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, is there a reward for charity even for the animals?” The Prophet said, “Yes, in every creature with a moist liver is a reward for charity.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5663, .

• We should tell the world about the character of the Excellent Exampler, the Holy Prophetsa, particularly, with regard to his mercy and love for humanity. We should enlighten the public, in each country,
about the noble character of the Holy Prophet (Sa) , and we should try to become righteous.
• We strongly condemn publication of the extremely contemptible, provocative, and blasphemous
caricatures of the Holy Prophet (Sa).
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama−‘at's reaction to the incident while
remaining within the Islamic teachings and its positive results.
• This shows how much they detest Muslims and Islam and how much malice they have for Islam. Their obnoxious minds show how far away
The Promised Messiah (May peace be upon him) says: " Do not think
that worldly wealth, dominion, honour and large progeny can bring
you peace and contentment. The fact is that true peace and
tranquillity, which is the gift of paradise, comes not
from these things
but from living and dying for the sake of God. The pleasures of the
world only increase impure desires and thirst. Thus they are like the
fire of hell that never leaves man in peace and always torments him
with anxiety and
and doubt and frustration. If you immerse yourself into
these worldly things more than it is necessary, then there will appear a
barrier between you and God, so that neither man moves towards
God, nor God moves towards man.
