Fox News has run multiple segments today detailing the travails of a Minnesota family that received an anonymous letter criticizing their Christmas light display.
Meanwhile, a record number of Americans are hospitalized with COVID and the death total is soaring.
This isn't even the only dumb "War on Christmas" bullshit they're running with today.
The COVID coverage Fox is providing is more of what I wrote about yesterday, calls for civil disobedience against "lockdowns." mediamatters.org/coronavirus-co…

The last five years have been one long series of decision points where Republican leaders could have chosen to make a firm break with Trump and did not, as he gained a tighter grip on the party's base.
So you're OK with Trump saying Mexico is sending us rapists? Fine, how about him saying a judge opposed him bc he’s Mexican? Fine, do you care about a tape where he talks about sexually assaulting women? Fine, what about "very fine people on both sides"?
And on and on they went.
The president is openly demanding that his political allies repudiate the election results on spurious grounds, amid an ongoing pandemic more lethal because of his failures. And with a tiny number of holdouts, they are either passive or active supporters of the coup.

It's been interesting to watch Fox flounder as it tries to respond to challengers. After the Daily Wire tried to build a subscriber base by attacking the network, I thought Fox might respond by banning its commentators from their airwaves.
But Daily Wire's Matt Walsh and Candace Owens have each appeared on Tucker Carlson's show since then. Either the network's executives aren't trying to respond, or they can't control their primetime hosts (or both).
All three Fox primetime shows last night ran with the Trump campaign's claim that "suitcases" of Georgia ballots had been counted without an election supervisor present.
That turns out to be total bullshit, as their own network now reports.
