A long preamble about how the situation has become worse, all without acknowledging any responsibility for it whatsoever.
Now he is saying the measures they put in place in November were ‘significant’, even though it has escalated out of control. A dog whistle about the ‘secure government paycheques’.
Crushed dreams, terrible adversity, through no fault of ‘brave Albertans’. Constitutionally protected rights and freedoms. Real sacrifices have been made. The policies and restrictions ‘seem unjust’. Basically just making excuses for taking action now but not doing enough before
He is 100% to blame for having to both excuse taking stronger actions now but also the need to act now to prevent hundreds more deaths.
Kenney is now justifying taking away Christmas. No mention of how, if he had followed the advice of hundreds of doctors weeks ago, we’d be at the end of the 4 weeks and in much better shape right now.
The contact tracing system has been overwhelmed for a lot longer than 3 weeks!
Kenney admits that this is the ‘last resort’. Too bad we weren’t proactive.

Don Braid is asking if people who were planning to quarantine for 14 days before Christmas can still get together at Christmas? Dr. Hinshaw says it’s too difficult to enforce & define. At this time, gathering for Christmas is not allowed. No one who doesn’t live in your home.
