Punjabi farmers are quite primitive in their modes of production.

That is unfair. The hard-working, responsible, and efficient farmers of the rest of India are subsidizing the wasteful lifestyle of Sikh farmers

Why are the 1 million farming families of Punjab privileged over the 145 million farming families from the rest of India? It would be highly irresponsible to pamper those who are inefficient but feel entitled.
It would be foolish on the part of the rest of India to extend any support to the blockading Sikh farmers. It is time for the Punjabis, especially Sikhs, to face the brutal reality. In 1965, Punjab had the highest per capita income in India.
Today, it has fallen to the 13th position. The slide would only accelerate further because many other states have modernized. Residents of those states have embraced new modes of economy which the Punjabis have failed to.
Bluntly put, the folks of Jharkhand or Tamilnadu are willing to work hard and earn an honest livelihood rather than become the leeches which the Sikh farmers have become.
Let's consider another fact:
India has 2.5 times surplus grain - 97 MT against 41 MT. It costs INR 1.8 lakh crores. Indians have no means of consuming this excess and no other country wants it. All of that would rot away.

It would be criminal to procure any more grains just because Sikh farmers are acting like bullies. Stop all FCI procurement from Punjab. Invest that money across India on developmental projects. INR 1.8 lakh crore is a lot money.
On a personal level, every Indian should resolve not to consume wheat for at least one year. Don't consume rice from Punjab either. Increase your consumption of legumes. That would increase the earnings of farmers from other states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and TN..
and remove the asymmetry resulting from subsidies.
Sikh farmers should realize that their profligate lifestyle is bankrolled by poor Indians from other states and that those who're receiving charity cannot act entitled - besides being highly inefficient.
