Alright gang, many of you know that I'm very for this district in North Carolina being made post-census. It fairly well encompasses my idea of Western North Carolina (though its by no means exclusive), so I made some maps of that for tonight #ElectionTwitter

Here's the recent Presidential election. Biden did well in Asheville and Boone in the district, and represented a dramatic increase from Clinton's 2016 share of the vote (next) (Note: all %s are in 2 party vote share)

These are first how Clinton did, and then the Dem vote percentage increase from 2016-2020. Biden did about 6 points better than Clinton, and increased margins across the board

Roy Cooper, the governor, also was up for re-election this year, and he won by a fair amount, but only narrowly lost this area. Jackson County in the lightest shade of red was only just over 100 votes from flipping

Cooper was also up for re-election in 2016, and did slightly worse, then, but actually won Jackson County. His margins went up in the more urban parts of the district (namely Asheville, Hendersonville, Transylvania, and metro Boone)

For sake of comparison, here's how much Cooper over-performed Biden and Clinton in each race. Only outperformed Biden by single digits, and Clinton double digits
