Step 2: Follow some or all of those accounts directly and turn on “alerts” by clicking on that bell button.
You will get notifications whenever they post. That’s the only way to hear consoles have dropped somewhere fast enough.

Step 3: Download the apps for major retailers; create an account for each; and preconfigure payment and shipping info.
With info already in, you can get through checkout in seconds. Inventory will be gone if you have to login, type in payment info, etc.
Can always delete later.
If you are a member of a discount club like Costco, BJ’s or Sam’s Club add those to the list.
They’ve all dropped some PS5 inventory recently. More coming probably.

Then it’s a matter of just paying attention.
Inventory is starting to flow a bit better. There will be more opportunities to succeed in the next two weeks than there were in the past month.
Just gotta be on the case and quick.

Lastly, if you do manage to land a console thanks to any of those accounts, throw them a tip if you can.
Several are run by people just out there to help others find this season’s impossible find.
If they help you, maybe put some paper in their jar.

The console is a landmark achievement in gaming. The graphics on Spider-Man are flat breathtaking. The hype is real.
Good luck!
If you’re looking, let me know if/when you land one!

Wait, two more resources:
One is a website called Now In Stock. Some have had success leaving that site open in a browser tab and settling alerts when new inventory hits anywhere.
The next chapter in my now comical quest to find a PlayStation 5 for my son...
Having now been shutout online and in person over and over, I’ve incrementally upped my game.
Followed a bunch of accounts that track restocks. Set alerts to get txts whenever they tweet.
1/
Also set up online shopping accounts at major resellers preconfigured for fast check out.
Downloaded all their apps.
And then I found an app that tracks actual store inventories. Not what their website says they have in inventory; what they actually have in the back room.
2/
I am now at CIA-level PS5 surveillance.
If a unit hits a shelf within the atomic blast radius of New York City, I know in minutes.
