In decades to come my children & grandchildren will want to know why Brexit happened and why it created the loss, waste, bureaucracy & damage it has ‘already’ started creating.
Here’s my pledge, as someone who was in Brussels then London:

I will remember the allegations of blackmail ahead of the Brexit votes in the @HouseofCommons & @UKHouseofLords , and then the intimidatory ‘staring down’ by @theresa_may in the Lords.
I will remember how @theresa_may tried to sidestep our sovereign Parliament & ram through Brexit without MPs’ approval - only to have to be stopped by our Supreme Court. I’ll remember how our judges were then vilified and branded ‘traitors’.
I’ll remember how @BorisJohnson , fed up with questioning by MPs about his government’s handling of Brexit negotiations, just shut down our Sovereign Parliament and - as with @theresa_may - the Supreme Court had to point out he couldn’t break UK constitutional law.
I’ll remember how, despite Scotland and Northern Ireland having voted Remain, @theresa_may and @BorisJohnson ’repeatedly’ patronised & dismissed Scottish & Northern Irish MPs & politicians with genuine questions & concerns about Westminster’s plans for ‘their’ people.
I’ll remember how, no matter the amount of key votes lost, no matter the scandal, no matter the findings of their ‘own’ investigations & no matter the rules broken, these @Conservatives governments ‘refused’ to adhere to the UK constitutional principle of responsibility & resign.
But, most of all, I’ll remember how a bunch of ‘highly’ educated people, who knew better, destroyed so much of my beautiful country and the rights of its people in so little time and with so little shame.
So I’ll repeat now what I’ll repeat in decades to come: #ShameOnYou
