I'm no fan of the Biden family but @DrBiden was indeed disrespected by the reporter in question regarding her title. This should not be something that requires explaining in the 21st century but a lot of people seem confused. So here we go: The title of "doctor" is NOT
synonymous with being a physician. As a matter of fact, the title was first used by folks holding doctorates (e.g., doctors of the church and other academics) before eventually being used by medical doctors. The word comes from "docere" (to teach). The MD degree is considered
to be an undergraduate degree (even though it is a professional degree that is typically conferred after one obtains another bachelor's degree). For example, the MD degree in many other countries is the MBBS (BACHELOR of medicine). During the protocol of convocations, medical
school graduates walk with the undergraduate class. Doctors (e.g., those holding a PhD etc.) walk in a separate convocation. The highest degree that a university can confer is a PhD (although in Britain, you can obtain a DSc, which is a degree granted to folks already holding a
PhD). That a PhD should be referred to as "Doctor" is not up for discussion. They are the real doctors from a title perspective. Now: The vast majority of people never or seldom meet PhDs therefore 'doctor' has become synonymous with a physician. This does not imply that
that doctor = medical practitioner and all other doctors are merely "pompous." Medical students are trained by doctors PhDs). A PhD in gender studies is a doctor (and you know how I feel about that discipline). A PhD in physics is a doctor. A PhD in theology is
a doctor (and you know how I feel about religion). Whether you are a doctor or not (as a PhD) DOES NOT depend on whether you use a bunsen burner or you study Chaucer. It is the highest TITLE of academia. To the imbeciles who argue that it is silly for a PhD travelling on a
plane to refer to themselves as "doctor" because bruh heart attack, you are truly lobotomized. Of course, if you are suffering from a heart attack, a neuroscientist (PhD) is of no use but this does not mean that he/she is any less of a doctor. Physicians USURPED
that title. BTW, in Britain, after you become a surgeon, you change your title from Dr. to Mr. So again, that @DrBiden has an Ed.D. (a degree considered less prestigious than a PhD) does not imply that she is not a doctor. Now, if you notice, I did not put my title in my
Twitter handle because I don't need to repeatedly advertise to the world what my title is. Some professors like to be called by their first names. As do some physicians. This is a matter of personal taste. But again, there is nothing proprietary about the doctor title for
physicians. When it comes to curing illness, they are indispensable. When it comes to creating human knowledge, not so much. Be respectful and address people properly unless they tell you otherwise.
- Prof. Dr. Gad Saad, BSc, MBA, MS, PhD, the real doctor
[I'm only weighing in on this matter for the benefit of the confused people. The issue is not up for debate. It was resolved 600+ years ago when the title of doctor became widespread.]

EVERY single day for the past four years, I have watched innumerable academics engage in the most insulting characterizations of @realDonaldTrump. I never sought to "altruistically punish" them by reporting them. I never unfriended them. I never personally insulted them.
Similarly, over the past five years, I have watched countless academics fawn over @JustinTrudeau in hallucinatory ways. I never sought to "altruistically punish" them by reporting them. I never unfriended them. I never personally insulted them. I recognize that people in a free
society have a right to hold differing political opinions. They have the right to express disdain for political figures. They have a right to disagree with me. BUT this is not a courtesy shared by the great majority of academics who are willing to engage in the most vile

@David_S_Wilson @glenngeher @primalpoly @JonHaidt @HumBehEvoSoc @CulturalEvolSoc @Chris_Ly @4_evos @EvoSBinghamton @tvolmag My opinion regarding this politician is not under the auspices of my scientific work. The antipathy that I feel for her is infinitely lesser than that I’ve seen from fellow scientists regarding Trump. I did not posit that it was “beneath” them to despise Trump. BTW, what is your
@David_S_Wilson @glenngeher @primalpoly @JonHaidt @HumBehEvoSoc @CulturalEvolSoc @Chris_Ly @4_evos @EvoSBinghamton @tvolmag objective in tagging the people on this thread? Are you reporting me? It has now happened on two separate occasions that you come after me publicly for political positions that I espouse (the last time was when you did not like my criticism of Obama). David, I have the highest
@David_S_Wilson @glenngeher @primalpoly @JonHaidt @HumBehEvoSoc @CulturalEvolSoc @Chris_Ly @4_evos @EvoSBinghamton @tvolmag respect for you and your scientific work. But know that I don’t take well to people attacking me publicly in the way that you have on two occasions now. If you choose to violate the tenets of mutual respect, know that I’m relentless in going after those who act in a smug manner.

It is truly bewildering that a country such as the United States could have such a devastatingly archaic voting system that is rife for fraud, contestation, inaccuracies and uncertainties. This statement is veridical irrespective of who wins. It is a broken system that is
antithetical to a supposed enlightened democracy of the 21st century. We can land people on the moon but we can't create a counting system that is incontestable? We can map the human genome but we can't create a counting system that is unassailable? It's a disgrace.
In Canada, the campaigning season is restricted to a few weeks prior to an election. In the US, it lasts for years with billions of corrupt dollars swaying the needle in either directions. Everything about the voting in the US is wrong. It is soul-causing to all freedom lovers.

Advice to haters: Life is full of promise, opportunities, and magisterial wonder. Instead of spending your time wallowing in personal hate toward people whom you've never met, try to create something. Write a song. Write a book. Build a bridge. Build friendships. Cook a meal.
Educate your children. Make love to your partner. Uplift people. I'm not suggesting that you should not criticize people's ideas when these are in public sphere but seek to reduce your hate imprint. Those whom you hate typically don't care about your venom so you are wasting
your time. Life is about navigating through tradeoffs and opportunity costs. I criticize people's ideas all of the time so I understand the reflect to be critical. But there is little value in spending much of your time obsessing in misplaced hate. Have a great Sunday!

I'd like to ask you for a moment to temper your political partisanship and your personal animus toward Trump. If the current story involving Burisma along with the Chinese bought influence were different in one way: Replace @joebiden and Hunter Biden by @realDonaldTrump and
his son @DonaldJTrumpJr, would you in the least bit be bothered by the story? Would the MSM have been as silent as they currently are? My engagement truly stems from purist ideals. I'm Canadian. I don't care about the individual actors. I care about the integrity of the US
political system. I care about having the US serve as the bastion of freedom including being free of corruption. If you are a truly honest person, could you genuinely ignore the current unfolding scandal? Again, FORGET about Trump. Does the current story bother you in any way?

The trajectory of the world in all domains of human excellence was shaped by men who are a lot more similar to @realDonaldTrump than @joebiden. This does not mean that I have photos of Trump in my bedroom as foreplay but it does mean that bold, aggressive, irreverent, unorthodox,
risk-takers have shaped art, literature, geopolitics, science, history, etc. The world is not shaped by tepid and timid parasites. It is forged by entrepreneurs. Whether you like his temperament or not, Trump is a risk-taking doer. He may fail at times spectacularly but he
is always hustling; always working; always fighting; always doing. Biden is a parasitic sloth; he found a way to milk the system by becoming a professional politician. My antiquated toaster has achieved more than him. Literally. Again, most people who hate Trump do so because
