1. Today, doses of a highly-effective vaccine are rolling out across the country.

At the same time, COVID vaccine misinfo is spreading across Facebook and Instagram

2. For example, an Instagram post by Children's Health Defense suggests the Pfizer vaccine could cause cancer because the FDA allows vaccines to be created from human tumor cells. But the Pfizer vaccine is synthetic & wasn't developed with any human cells

3. The Children's Health Defense Instagram post has 5K likes. It's not an obscure org. It was founded by RFK Jr. and is one of the most prominent sources of vaccine misinfo.

4. Facebook didn't respond to a request for comment. One possibility, raised by several Facebook staffers who left following the election, is that Facebook is overly reliant on artificial intelligence to enforce its policies instead of hiring human beings

5. Facebook said that it will not be able to enforce its policies "overnight." Why not? The company had $7.8 billion in profits last quarter. Why can't it devote sufficient resources to enforce policies that it created?

1. I'm a fan of @OpenSecretsDC but this is absolutely false. The information about post 11/3 corporate donations to Perdue/Loeffler in my newsletter today is simply not available there.

The site does not reflect the 12/3 filings

Even once it updates, it won't be available
@OpenSecretsDC 2. This is nerdy but I'll explain. You can navigate to Perdue's page and click on PAC donations.

That will give you a list of industries.

You can click through each industry to get individual donors.

But that wouldn't tell you which companies donated after 11/3
@OpenSecretsDC 3. Let's look in the Food and Beverage subcategory on Misc Business category. It tells you that Anheuser-Busch donated 5K to Perdue. And nothing from Molson-Coors.

But Actually Anheuser-Busch has donated 20K to Perdue and Molson-Coors 5K.

1. Due to a legal quirk, the Perdue and Loeffler campaigns don't reveal their recent donors until 12/24.

BUT individual corporate PACs were required to file on 12/3

I reviewed hundreds of filings to uncover Perdue and Loeffler's recent corporate donors

1. In March and April, when the stock market was tanking, Republicans supported large COVID relief legislation

Since then, things have gotten much worse for PEOPLE, but the MARKET has recovered and the GOP has blocked further relief

1. Six major corporations just called on the new Congress and president-Elect Biden to enact "ambitious" climate policies.

But there political spending SINCE ELECTION DAY suggests they have other priorities.

But SINCE ELECTION DAY all six companies have donated thousands to Perdue, Loeffler or both.
